Ohio Team Preview: Big Walnut

They are a group of girls who love basketball, each other and who love to compete! They have a balanced inside-out game led by [player_tooltip player_id='319045' first='Denza' last='Allen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='808253' first='Sydney' last='Mobley'] on the interior and [player_tooltip player_id='812225' first='Remy' last='Largent'], [player_tooltip player_id='959234' first='Lexi' last='Federer'], Alexa Morris and [player_tooltip player_id='481386' first='Jozie' last='Syroka'] on the outside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2023 was marked with a 22-3 record and the first OCC title since Head Coach Carey Largent's Senior year at Big Walnut. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key returners: </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='319045' first='Denza' last='Allen'] 6'1 Sr.</strong> BGSU commit, 1st team OCC + District 11, D1 Central District 3rd team and All Ohio Honorable Mention averaged 13pts, 6rbd. This lefty has the ability to get to the basket and finish with or without her back to the basket gives opponents match up problems. She is strong on the boards and her length is a big factor in the Eagle defense. Allen has so much value with her game, but her leadership skills on and off the court is very noticeable! She has been tagged an elite shooter with range and the ability to create shots of the bounce or coming off screens. Her length, anticipation and tenacity on the defensive end is also a big strength. Largent's defense is truly just as impressive as her deep 3's, court vision, and passing. Morris just plays the game, and simply does whatever it takes to help the team! Averaged 17pts, 11rbd, 3.5asst, 1.6blks her freshman year. She is a monster on the boards, a three level scorer, excellent passer and can guard! One of the nations top recruits in the 2027 class who has captured the attention of College Coaches for quite some time! Mobley's work ethic is off the charts- she's hungry to always improve her game, and boy does it show! Incredible future for this lady!
