Over the next several weeks, prior to the high school season kicking off, we are going to highlight a prospect on each team throughout the state of Nebraska, that is vital to the success of their Varsity program over the next six months. To start things off, we are going to lock in with the biggest Class in the state and that is the A Class. In this specific piece, we highlight the schools of Omaha Central, Omaha Burke, Omaha Benson, Norfolk, Millard West, and Millard South.

[player_tooltip player_id='502328' first='Amiyja' last='Hughes'] has been a hot commodity this past six months in the aspect of recruiting and getting looks to compete at the next level. Hughes is a guard that has a nice set up dribble, great body control, and a smart play-style. In most moments she knows how to work smart instead of hard, helping her taking advantage of her matchups in important situations. Hughes led Central last Winter in a few positive statistical categories and she is back for one last run at it for her Senior season. She has been working relentlessly this off-season so I expect her to pick up right where she left off.

You want to talk about an impressive guard when it comes to scoring and rebounding the ball at a thorough rate? Look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='766780' first='LaNasia' last='Wilson'] of Omaha Burke High School. Wilson was her team's most dominant scorer last Winter by far, while also leading her team in RPG. Pretty impressive when you consider that she is a 5'7 guard, usually running the PG position. This team is in a situation where they are going to go as far as Wilson can take them. She will be looked upon in crunch time and I'm sure she is ready to accept that challenge.

Benson High School has been on the up and up the past couple of seasons and I think that [player_tooltip player_id='817523' first='McKenzie' last='Lewis'] at the CG position is going to help continue on that trend moving forward. Lewis is their heart, soul, and a monster mismatch. This is a prospect with better than average height at 6'0 with great balance, coordination, touch, and athletic ability. She is someone that is impossible to handle in 1v1 situations when she has space, no matter which offensive level it's at and that's a major reasons as to why she will be crucial to this team's success this Winter

I had the chance to see [player_tooltip player_id='1045026' first='Skylar' last='Indra'] of Norfolk this past month at our PGH event out in Bellevue. During this event, Indra did a great job of scoring when it was thrown her way without making it a 1v1 situation. What I mean by that is she made the most of her chances but never made it seem like it was 1 on 1 basketball. There was always good ball movement and it was always off of a ball rotation or two. Defensively, Indra moves well off the ball and from help side. She closes out to her opponent with choppy feet and high hands but she is always low in her stance, making her still quick enough to recover from side-to-side when breakdowns might happen. All in all, Indra is going to be important to her team's overall identity with how much she can produce. She just has to find the flow of the game and then the rest is history.

[player_tooltip player_id='315777' first='Norah' last='Gessert'] of Millard West has been debatably the most important piece to her team's success over the past three seasons. Along side of her sister, Norah is a difference maker, leader, and superior talent on the high school floor compared to most. With the Wildcats this season, Gessert will be be in charge of running their offense for one last time. She is going to have the duties of controlling the tempo, running her team's systems on both sides of the ball, and making everyone else around her better. As long as she comes in prepared like year's past, she is going to put together a Senior season to be proud of.

To put anyone player in this article for Millard South is unfair but if I HAD to pick on who I think is going to be an extremely vital prospect for this group this Winter, it's [player_tooltip player_id='896886' first='Jayla' last='Cleveland'] at the Forward spot. Cleveland isn't the tallest but she still stands at 6'0 with a lot of skill on the floor. At this point in her journey, she has several D3 and NAIA offers to continue on following this Winter. Which speaks to her ability on both sides of the ball. In this Millard South system, she is going to be the anchor in the middle, top rebounder, debatably leading scorer, all while defending the paint at a high rate. As long as Cleveland puts together a good Winter, I think Millard South is going to be just fine.
