of Millard West High School is leading the state in APG with 6. This number just edges out the prospects in 2nd and 3rd place, showing everyone really how close things are in this category. What makes this number even more impressive is that Norah is doing it against the toughest competition in the state of Nebraska, as well as against top rankings teams from other states. While this is impressive, it’s not surprising. We are talking about a Creighton commit, that could make an instant impact within her first few seasons with the Bluejay’s program. Until then, I’m sure she will stay mentally locked in going into the Post season, controlling what she can.

of Millard West is the team’s PG and primary ball handler a majority of the time. She has always shown off elite vision, a skilled passing ability, the willingness to sacrifice for the others around her, and she is always the first to demonstrate great sportsmanship. Being a 6’0 PG is no joke. At this size things become interesting looking toward the future and the Creighton Bluejay’s roster. They also have Ava Zediker coming in from Iowa so if these three commits, the two sister and Ava, can find their niche early on in the system, who knows what they could accomplish over their four seasons their together. For now everyone should just worry about the season afoot but it’s never a bad thing to think about what their future roster might look like.

of Millard West has been debatably the most important piece to her team’s success over the past three seasons. Along side of her sister, Norah is a difference maker, leader, and superior talent on the high school floor compared to most. With the Wildcats this season, Gessert will be be in charge of running their offense for one last time. She is going to have the duties of controlling the tempo, running her team’s systems on both sides of the ball, and making everyone else around her better. As long as she comes in prepared like year’s past, she is going to put together a Senior season to be proud of.

. Gessert gets this spot over others because of her ability to make everyone else around her better at the PG position. She is skilled and awfully talented in her own right but her play on the court speaks volumes, more than anything else. When she is out there, she is always looking out for her teammates around her, trying to make the situation as efficient as possible. That’s a skill that I think she does a great job with now and it will also translate to the court with the Bluejays in the near future.

The prospect along side of Neleigh that you always have to have in the same breathe is her twin sister and PG, Norah. Norah is the handler of the two sisters more-so if you want to keep it basic while you break things down. Norah understands how to make everyone around her better with her passing ability and that ability will most definitely translate to the next level. If her future is anything like her past has been on the hardwood, she is going to continue to see success in waves, now and later down the road with a Bluejays uniform on but for now, she is going to come in at #2 in this series.

. Norah plays more of the passing role in this situation, always making the prospects around her look amazing because of her willingness to sacrifice, setting everyone up for success. This AAU season has been just as good for Norah as it has been for Neleigh. With both being college committed, all they have to worry about is becoming the best versions of themselves. Something that they continue to prove night in and night out while they take the floor. Hopefully they can bring home an Adidas title over this next month but if not, they should keep their heads high looking to make a statement this upcoming season after coming off of a State Title.

is a Point Guard and playmaker whenever she is lacing up her kicks. As of most recent. Gessert has committed to compete with the Bluejays at the next level, after her high school career comes to a close at Millard West. There is a lot I could say about Gessert but her best ability is that she is skilled, while making everyone else around her better. She has a high motor, she is smooth in all of her movements, and she is always willing to make the extra pass to an open teammate. She is someone that can control the tempo of a ball game and she is a fantastic communicator. At the next level, I expect much of the same. She is going to be someone who can mix it up off the dribble or she can move without the ball into an easier look for herself while cutting to the hoop in some form. In the Bluejay’s system, she should thrive and I can’t wait to see it first hand.

If you know anything about Nebraska High School basketball, you know about the Gessert Twins. Norah is the Point Guard. The one who can find a teammate in any given situation, while being able to handle and create at a high rate. She is very good with the ball in her hands and that’s not going to chance any time soon. Last AAU season, both of these sisters played well enough to be considered All Americans, being invited out to Adidas’ big event to end the season. Well this year, they are back for me. Norah returns to this group in an interesting situation. She may be the best natural PG that this group has but she isn’t the smallest. She stands at 6’o so I wonder if she will be moved to the off-guard spot or if they will run a duo PG system within their offense. There are still a few questions to answer with this group, like who is going to be the alpha dog and such but I think they are going to play for one another as a whole so no matter what, they should all shine.

Millard West put together one of the most impressive high school seasons throughout the State of Nebraska last season, bringing home a State title and putting up some really impressive numbers while doing it. The reason for their success is no surprise, it comes in the form of their impressive roster that holds SEVERAL collegiate level players. One of them being their starting PG,
Norah Gessert

. Norah is the player that keeps this group together. She brings up the ball, runs their offense, and at the end of the day – she is someone that everyone else on this team looks up too. This season for her was like all the others. She put up important numbers, she got her teammates involved at a high rate, and she never forced any action or caused issues because she wasn’t thinking things through. She demonstrated that she is very calculated in every move she makes, while also staying patient in all of her decision making and that’s what you want as a head coach. You need a smart Guard, that is going to do ANYTHING to help her team win and that’s Norah. Not to mention, she is skilled in her own right. She has a nasty handle and is swift with the ball. If we are talking about the best overall PG’s thourghout the state of Nebraska right now, Norah is definitely that conversation and that’s why she comes in at #2 in this Player Rankings Update for the 2025 Class.

, her twin sister. Norah is another player and competitor that has serious game and that ability was on full display in their win last night. With Neleigh scoring the ball at a high rate and Norah setting her up, their numbers reflect this style of play but Norah does a great job of creating her own as well. In this contest against Millard North, she registered 16 points on 6-9 shooting from the field, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. As you can tell, when everything else breaks down in the offense, Norah does a great job of creating things out of nowhere. Like I said above, this game tonight is a big one for both programs. One team is going to go home as the champs and one team is going to go home with their first lose of the year. If the Gessert twins do their thing, I’m not sure who is going to slow them down but we will see.
