Pueblo continues to build on its history and Legacy

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the last 13 years, Head Coach Izzy Galindo has lead the Pueblo Girls Basketball program, and the Warriors are widely recognized as one of the most successful programs in Southern Arizona during that span. They have also had either a Cazares or a Galindo amongst the leaders in scoring for the team most of those years. This year [player_tooltip player_id='607509' first='America' last='Cazares'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1196458' first='Sara' last='Galindo'] will build on the Legacy of the Warriors proud and successful tradition. Both players had sisters that have played in the program for some very successful teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pueblo and Izzy Galindo have built a strong foundation and this year should be much better than last season when they were very young and lacked depth. The season before last, Pueblo made it to the 4A State Championship game losing by 3 points in a thriller to Flagstaff. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This year's squad features [player_tooltip player_id='607509' first='America' last='Cazares'] (2026), last year's Kino Region Offensive Player of the Year. America has already shown that she is a prolific scorer, and will once again be amongst the scoring leaders in the State. [player_tooltip player_id='1196458' first='Sara' last='Galindo'] (2025), the daughter of coach Galindo, will also be a player that is going to be counted on both for scoring and for her experience. She went over 1,000 career points her sophomore year, and she has continued to develop her offensive game. She has been working hard for the last 3 years and this year should be her strongest contribution. She is a good shooter, she is a solid defender, but most importantly she has a very high Basketball IQ. She is long for a guard, and she handles the ball well in traffic and makes good decisions with her passing. She does all of the little things to help her team win. She will be counted on to guard Centers and Forwards, and she will be counted on to provide rebounding. She is a very good defender and can score around the rim with regularity.
