To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover six individuals out of this 2026 Class in Nebraska, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

Pender High School starts off this Winter season as the favorites to run it back and bring home another State Title for their Class. A big reason for this is because they return their top producers, specifically one at the PG position in [player_tooltip player_id='502331' first='Hadley' last='Walsh']. Walsh is a tough matchup to handle. She moves well off of the ball once she passes, she knows how to get her team's priorities in order, and she is someone that really leads by example in almost every facet to those around her. Pender has a few star prospects but their top uncommitted is definitely Walsh.

Moving into this season, I was thoroughly impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='890842' first='Bailee' last='Durant'] and what she was doing on the AAU floor, along with the Fall Showcase floor. Durant, a 5'10 SG, has a picture perfect shot form, that you can tell is going to be a good look when she lets it go. Whenever you are watching her compete and you see that first shot go up, as an evaluator, you know she is a pure SG immediately. We are still two years away but this is a college level prospect in a few different aspects. If she can find the correct niche within a program, she could make it rain at the next level even more.

Skutt Catholic has kicked off their season how you would imagine, killing their competition. Someone that has transferred over to this program for the next two seasons is [player_tooltip player_id='946938' first='Jenna' last='Benjamin'] and she is getting a lot of playing time at this point in the year. Benjamin is a player that is usually asked to guard the best opposing prospect on the other squad, while also being an avid contributor on offense. In this new system, it's going to open some doors for Benjamin over time. If she continues to work, she is going to like how things continue to unfold moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='758994' first='Abbi' last='Durow'] of Millard South High School has been one of the most impressive prospects that the state has seen so far this Winter. Durow is putting up major numbers in each contest, while helping her team compete in those meaningful games. Right now - she is scoring at a high rate and doing everything in between. Assisting, Rebounding, creating turnovers, etc. The one factor you can't deny is someone's production and Durow has produced at a high rate this Winter. Plain and Simple. If she continues on this rate, who knows where she might take things by the time she gets into her final AAU season.

Speaking about some noteworthy guards and [player_tooltip player_id='759392' first='Kate' last='Wulf'] of Blair High School is someone that comes to mind with her ability on both sides of the basketball. Wulf competes with a high motor, smart decision making, and she would rather play smarter than hard - ultimately helping everyone on her side in the situation in some way. During AAU season, Wulf does a respectable job of keeping her head held high and doing her thing. I've seen her against some fierce competition and each time, she didn't hurt her team. Which is all you can ask for from a coaching perspective in the grand scheme of things. At Blair, Wulf is looking to continue with this momentum, in hopes of riding it into a great run during the Playoffs, in just a few short months.
