Bowman County vs Watford City – Game Notes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bowman County won an early season contest at Watford City 46-37. This was another good game showcasing the talent at both the A and B level. She is a tall, athletic player that can do it all. She can hit the deep three and drive hard to the basket. She has great bounce in her step, which gives her a nice first step on the offensive end. The most impressive part of her game is her vision and passing. She had multiple passes that were of a high degree of difficulty. She pitched the ball ahead in transition and was able to hit a post dive from the block for easy baskets. I really liked how she played defense. She is a quick guard who does a really good job of keeping the ball in front of her. She is natural off the ball defensively, staying in stance and being ready to help. It is really nice to see such great defense from a freshman and exciting to think how good she will be going forward. She is a quick lefty and did a lot to orchestrate Watford City's offensive game. The Wolves ran a lot of ball screen action with Annabelle and I liked her decision making off those screens. She was able to finish over bigger defenders and has a good looking shot, knocking down a 3 in transition. She had a good block as a secondary defender in the second half, using her timing well. She is able to drive hard to the basket and compete down low with taller girls. She also knocked down a key three pointer to start the 4th quarter and give the Wolves a chance at a comeback. She is a strong post player and effective for being only listed at 5'10. She had a very nice pin-down screen into a seal and layup to start the second half. She did a nice job of positioning herself around the basket and was very physical battling for rebounds. She was the screener in Watford's ball screen game and defenders had a tough job getting through her screens.
