Impressive Power Forwards at Tampa Bay Christmas Invitation

In this article, we shift the focus to some of the power forward prospects who played well at the Invitational. These players held it down on the inside, battling for rebounds, giving their team extra possessions, providing some resistance on defense, or just intimidating the opponent.    [player_tooltip player_id='514564' first='Jailyn' last='Williams'] has great size and was one of the most impressive-looking power forwards in the building.  But she didn't just look the part, but played the part. She rebounded well and on the offensive end she handled business business in the paint, scoring on the inside with a nice touch and very impressive footwork and mobility.   Williams ran the floor extremely well and consistently filled the lanes and was aged of the guards for a vertical pass. She made one great move where she started one way and then converted a layup off of a reverse pivot- spin move in the paint.  Williams was equally effective on the defensive end. defending in the paint and then showed athleticism in covering wing players on the perimeter.   She is an exceptional athlete who has great length, agility, and quickness. Williams was one of the most impressive athletes in the room.     [player_tooltip player_id='788718' first='Sumayah' last='McIntosh'] was another impressive Forward who is gifted with extraordinary athleticism. McIntosh was physical, powerful, and fast. Her ability to maneuver on the court and her body control were impressive. When she got the ball anywhere close to the basket, she was virtually unstoppable. On defense, McIntosh was fierce. She has the ability to play on the inside or out and does so with great physicality. She had no test against the opponent she faced, but her talent and skillset were evident. She ran the floor well and got to the rim at will.     [player_tooltip player_id='428046' first='Izellah' last='Kendrick'] was very impress live on Day 2 of the event. Her ability to put the defender on her back and dominate on the inside was impressive. She did a good job of taking the hit and still scoring through contact. Kendrick also showed some versatility, extending her catches out to the free-throw line and making good passes to her guards and wing players. Kendrick has the ability to hit the short jumper and drive the basket. At the Christmas Invitational, she was more effective scoring on the blocks and around the rim with power.     [player_tooltip player_id='941219' first='Cali' last='Midyett'] was making plays with her team down double digits in the game I saw. On two consecutive possessions, the young Center- Forward rejected 2 shots. Shortly afterwards, she ran the floor and scored on a transition layup. Midyett also showed a level of comfort defending on the perimeter on a pick and roll switch.       [player_tooltip player_id='873418' first='Emry' last='Warren'] got my attention on the defensive end several times. Warren puts the word power in power forward. She runs the floor well, defends in the paint well, and did not give up anything. If you score on Warren, it was apparent you were going to earn it.       [player_tooltip player_id='346821' first='Z'Mharie' last='Barber'] played very well on Day 1 of the Christmas Invitational. Barber has very good size and moves very well. She hit the boards hard and defended her position in the paint very well. She was also very attentive on the helpside. Barber also forced a few turnovers at the top of the press with her active hands and ability to run. One play comes to mind. She was at center court and with active hands and active feet, she caused the guard to turn the ball over. Barber also had a few nice conversions in the paint. She was solid for the game. With her team's schedule, she will be called on throughout this season. She answered the call on Day 1.
