The Johnston Winter Tip-Off Classic 2024 was a great event, with several intriguing matchups. Below I highlight just a handful of prospects that I took live notes on throughout the day. "Trytten has fantastic size at 5'11 for her position at CG. She can handle under pressure, create as the PG, or play off the ball as the 2 or 3 offensively. She would be a monster on most other teams across the state of Iowa, if she competed at any other high school for the most part. College coaches better hop onto this one fast because they are missing out. This is someone who could thrive at the next level, if given a chance."     "Foster's raw potential mixed with her size is noteworthy. This is someone that's has a fundamental shot from all three levels, she can get to her spots at Will, and she can also dish out some nice assists as well. Defensively, her size plays a nice factor to help her program on that side of the ball almost every other play, in one way or another. I'm sure the rest of this Winter that she will put up solid numbers with this Varsity team in general as they attempt to continue to make some waves."     "AP just has that “it” factor. She is extremely skilled with the ball once she gets down hill, she contributors in several aspects of the game, and she is a great leader. This is another player that would be a top dog in most other programs but I'm sure she is cool while killing it with Johnston. Her natural skill set stands out as one of the best on every court she competes on and that's going to continue to be obvious to everyone that is paying attention."     "There were several talented prospects showing out their skills within their contests at this event but someone who I really enjoyed in real time was [player_tooltip player_id='957821' first='Macy' last='Harnden']. Harnden, the Loras Women's Basketball commit, was handling the ball, handling pressure, running the DC offense, and she was being another guard the her Maroon's team could trust in. [player_tooltip player_id='311396' first='Ava' last='Zediker'] is the big dawg PG on this team but Harnden is very skilled in her own right. I'm excited to see how she continues on with that the rest of this season as DC attempts to bring home a 5A State Title."     "As good as advertised at shooting the basketball. Cupito has height at 6'0 to let her shot go over most defending in her way, she is quick thinking, & she is extremely skilled. Every time she looks to score, it's off a jumper. Hoping over time that evolves but other than that, she is going to be someone that has several college programs attention, sooner than later."     "Kalb has been on the radar since our most recent 2028 Update. This is obviously a skilled player, who has lengthy arms and a lot to give out on the court. With her shooting ability and the way that she attacks the boards, it's not crazy to think she is going to continue to get better as time moves forward, even though she is showing a lot so far. Usually it takes awhile for any Freshman to get constant playing time within the Johnston program at a young age but Kalb is and she is making the most out of that opportunity so far."     "This is the third time I've seen [player_tooltip player_id='879656' first='Damia' last='Clark'] this season and each time she has impressed me as a standout for her Davenport North program. She is playing off of the ball on the outside and always looking to make something happen once it's rotated to her. On this team, Clark is not going to be the standout this Winter with who they have in front of her but she is going to be a vital role player for them in the grand scheme of things."     "Dunn's job is to start the game and be a knock-down three point shooter from behind the three point line. With how many playmakers this group has, they needed one more prospect who could get hot from deep in the blink of an eye and that is Dunn. Not only can she make big shots, she does so with a lightning quick trigger off of the catch but she also doesn't force the action. She can wait and pump [player_tooltip player_id='902895' first='fake' last=''] or wait and rotate the ball if she is over-played. Dunn is going to be an important player to this team's aspirations this Winter if they want to bring home another State Title. If she plays efficient ball as their starting SG, they are going to love how things unfold as times continues to move forward."
