Kelli Kalb is one of the states most complete prospects. She has great size at 6’0, she is a knockdown shooter from deep, she can handle, defend, rebound, and she competes with a calculated head on her shoulders. Kalb holds a handful of D1 offers at this time from all around and I don’t expect those offers to slow down anytime soon. More should be coming this June and July. From there, who knows how many programs might step up to make an offer once that June 1st restriction is lifted for the 2028 Class. As long as she just keeps doing what she is doing, she is going to be just fine in the grand scheme of things but it is always good to note that the prospect is continuing to hold their own as they get older.

To no ones surprise Kelli Kalb of AIA EYBL and Johnston High School grabbed her first offer of this 2026 Spring seasons yesterday when Colorado State decided to make that call. This is a lengthy SG at 6’0, who is slowly grabbing more and more interest from all over the Country as the years go on. She has been blowing up around the Midwest the last couple of seasons and now it’s time for schools from all over the Nation to come into play. It’s going to be a very interesting High School Winter to follow this AAU season for Johnston because Kalb is going to be looked upon to be their go-to option in several different instances. How she proceeds from there will tell us a lot about what’s going to happen over the next few seasons within that program as a whole and for Kalb individually as well.

Kelli made a strong impression with AIA by showcasing elite size and a natural ability to score the ball in the 2028 class. Her quick, efficient release allows her to get shots off cleanly, even with defenders closing out, and she consistently proved she can knock down perimeter looks at a high rate. With her combination of length and shot-making ability, Kelli creates tough matchup problems and has the tools to be one of the most high-level scoring threats in the country as she continues to grow her game.

stays locked in at our #3 spot following an undefeated high school season with her Johnston Dragon crew. Kalb, the 5’11 SG, is a bucket off the catch from deep. She shoots the ball effortlessly with it almost coming off her hand looking like it’s about to be a swish every time. No matter the defense or situation at hand. We have only been able to see glimpses of Kalb and her full potential the past few years but I’m hoping that is going to change starting this Spring. I feel that Kalb should be used in AIA EYBL system at a high rate as their SG or CG over the next few months for her grade level. From there, she can work off of that momentum and bring some fire to the floor next Winter at Johnston, where she is going to be looked upon to produce at an extremely high rate if their team wants to be successful once again.

. Well last night it was a number of players but primarily Kalb. She led her team in scoring while doing it efficiently and crashing the boards hard. That’s what you love to see out a promising future D1 commit. Johnston is the team to beat in 5A once again next week. They will start off 5A action on Monday morning at 10AM against AC and from there we will see what happens.

stepped up in-front of a healthy crowd, doing her thing while putting up some nice numbers in the stat book. Kalb is the type that likes to work off the ball on the wing. She has a three level scoring ability with some length to her size at 5’11. Kalb hit some big shots off the catch throughout the duration of this contest, ultimately finishing as her team’s second leading scoring with 13 points (5/9) and leading rebounder with 7. She had a balanced attack throughout, playing selfless basketball per usual and that helped her team grab a convincing W in the end.

should end up as a D1 prospect at the end of her time of high school ball but she still has a few years to go before we get to that point. Kalb has a natural feel for the game, an offensively arsenal, and she is someone that can standout on defense. This Winter with Johnston the Dragons have started with a 9-0 record and in most games, Kalb has shown up and shown out. She might not be the top producer for her crew just yet but she knows how to impact the outcome of a contest with her presence. She can get you buckets or she can get you stops while playing smart basketball and that’s all you can ask for from a coaching perspective.

is the state’s next best thing out of this 2028 Class but I think we need to slow our roll and let things play out a little bit more. Kalb holds the second most D1 offers out of this 2028 Class because of her mixture of shooting ability and her natural length. She stepped up last season in the 5A State Title game and made an instant impact with her scoring ability. She built off of that by having a memorable AAU season with her AIA EYBL program and now she is ready for her Sophomore season with the Dragons. If Kalb continues to steadily progress as she gets older, the interest will continue to follow. Right now we have Kalb as the #3 prospect out of this 2028 Class but I’m sure that could change before you know it if she plays her cards right this Winter.

is a D1 level talent at the SG position, who is prepped for a big Winter ahead at Johnston High School. Kalb was a big play-maker last season when she got her opportunities on their way to a 5A State Title. This Winter she should be looked upon for a lot of production on both ends of the ball. Last night Kalb brought in another college offer, this time from Creighton. This is an impactful offer coming from a top ranking college program that is continuing to get better with the players they are bringing on year-by-year. This Bluejay’s program continues to look to grab high-end prospects out of the state of Iowa and at this rate, they should continue to get some of those players to commit before you know it.

can really do from the SC/CG position. Kalb put on a show last year with her minutes on the Varsity floor for the Dragons. This season she will be looked upon to do the exact same but with a few more minutes on the floor. I don’t see Kalb coming off of the court very much over the next three years. She should be a main focal point in their offense, while being a sound defender at the same time. I’m hoping that Kalb shows her worth early on over the next few months. If she plays her game, she should be nothing short of impressive as a Division-1 prospect.
