[player_tooltip player_id='469472' first='Aubrey' last='Kenner'], who has been a varsity player since 7th grade, has developed into an outstanding player. An All-Region and All-District player from last season, she averaged 19.4 points per game. She also had 92 steals, 73 assists, and 67 three point makes. She is able to do it all and is a critical piece to the Wildcats competing for a State Tournament birth. Aubrey is an outstanding three point shooter and is very good at scoring in transition. She does a nice job playing the top of Benson County's full-court press. Look for Aubrey to light it up once again this season.

Cheryl has the look of an elite basketball player and the game to back it up. The 6' point guard for the Pirates had an incredible Sophomore campaign, averaging 12.7 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. She also had 75 steals and 85 assists. She is a great defensive player and Coach DeMoe has her at the top of their half-court zone, a spot where she thrives. She is able to get deflections that turn into transition opportunities and still be in great rebounding position. Cheryl is a great player who is only going to get better.

Karleigh was a huge contributor on last season's 3rd place state tournament team. She is Sargent County's top returning scorer at 18.5 points per game and was selected to the 2nd-Team All-State team. She has good size and moves well in transition. I noticed she plays with great effort and isn't afraid to get on the floor and dive for 50/50 balls. She has the ability to knock down deep 3 point shots and makes good decisions in transition. Karleigh will have another terrific season and give Sargent County a great chance at getting back to the State Tournament.

Violet is an exceptional talent. She made the All-District team as only a freshman, averaging 16.1 points per game. She also had 78 steals, 68 assists, and 47 three point makes. She is the total package offensively and is only going to get better. She has great footwork and rhythm in her shot and is able to use her athleticism to get to the rim. Violet is going to score a ton of points in her high school career and be a multi-year All-State selection going forward. More importantly, she is going to lead the Raiders to a lot of wins in her career.

Laela had a great season last year as a junior earning herself a spot on the 1st-Team All-State Team. She averaged 19 points per game and 6 rebounds per game. She also had 97 steals, 70 assists, and 69 three point makes. She is the Night Hawks best player and a very skilled player. What stood out most to me was her ability to get her teammates involved. She has great vision when attacking the basket and does a great job making decisions on whether to shoot or pass. She is also an exceptional passer with her left hand, something that is difficult to do as a right handed player. Laela will have a strong senior season and should find herself once again on the All-State team.

It will be a lot of fun to see how this group of girls play this season and who can lead their team to a State Tournament birth. Look for Part 2 coming soon!
