[player_tooltip player_id='935274' first='Vana' last='Bilic'] of Waukee NW made a statement over the past few days with her production on the Varsity floor for her Wolves program. Bilic ended her team's contest against Ankeny by putting up a massive stat line of 28 points on 9/12 shooting and 4 assists. She also went 5/5 from behind the three point line and 5/5 from the free throw stripe. This Wolves team is going to be a problem for the rest of this Winter and looking into the immediate future. They are quickly learning from their mistakes and making adjustments in real time, all leading to some important victories so far. Each night this squad has someone else that could go off for a record night and this time, it just happened to be Bilic.

Omaha Westview won their battle on Saturday afternoon against the top rated Lincoln North Star Gators on a buzzer beater at the basket by [player_tooltip player_id='777564' first='Kalyn' last='Bailey']. Bailey, a 5'11 Forward, has been showing up and showing out this Winter for Westview. She has been a post that others need to worry about on every possession, she has consistently been altering shots near and far from rim defensively, and she has been eating on both ends in the rebounding department. In the final 15 second of this specific contest, Bailey got the board off of a missed free throw, passed it to her outlet guard, she than ran down the lane line and the ball was passed ahead to hit her for the final bucket as time expired at the rim, sending everyone in the gym into a frenzy. This might not of been the best game of Bailey's career but I'm sure it is one she will remember for the rest of her life.

On Friday night, [player_tooltip player_id='560333' first='Kendra' last='Boatman'] of Keokuk High School registered another 25+ point double-double, while helping her team secure a major W. Boatman has been her usual self this Winter, dominating in stylish fashion almost every night. She is demonstrating that she is a thorough guard, that understands her ability and how to dominate whoever is matching up across from her. I'm excited to see what she does with her Missouri Phenom group this upcoming Spring on the travel scene. She is going to be on another talented roster with other big playmakers so it's going to be interesting to see how she fits when that's the case. If it's anything like Varsity high school ball, she is going to love how AAU season turns out in the end.

Pius X defeated an undefeated Skutt Catholic team on Saturday to start their 2025 off on the right note. In this contest, it was a close one throughout and it really came down to Pius X showing up in the fourth quarter, ultimately helping them gain the victory. In this showing, there were 4-6 major contributors for each team but one that really jumped out for the winners was Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='316455' first='Ellie' last='Wells']. Wells is a Forward, that moves really well for her size at 5'11. She has lengthy arms and a quick reaction time on both sides of the ball, always leaving a lasting impact in anything she is attempting. When the final buzzer sounded her, she was one of her team's top producers once again. Which makes a lot of sense. This is a D2 prospect, that has coordination, size, smarts, balance, and a soft touch. When you add all of that together, you understand a player like that should produce at the Varsity level and that's what we have here so, it checks out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1126082' first='Amyra' last='Millard'] of Clayton Ridge High School posted a noteworthy stat line in her efforts on Friday night at home against Postville High School. Millard ended the night with 20 Points on 7/15 shooting, 15 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, and 1 Steal. When you take into consideration that the opposing team only put up a total of 27 points on the other side, you start to see how convincing this performances really was from an outsider perspective. All in all, this was a game-play stood out to anyone watching and that's something we can all respect.
