The year has started off hot in high school basketball gameplay. Great prep school hoops are active over the long weekend and this Tilton vs Dexter matchup was no let down. The high energy could be felt in this early Saturday morning duel. Tilton came to Dexter Southfield's home floor and left victorious. The Rams won 73-61. There was splendid play from a bunch of girls. Here are 7 productive names from the game.

Use code MBG30 for 30% off your first purchase of any subscription.

[player_tooltip player_id='987554' first='Hannah' last='Lynch'] (2025) | 5'10 Wing | Tilton

Hannah was incredibly aggressive crashing the glass, setting up teammates with hard screens and diving to the basket without the basketball. She was able to manufacture some tough baskets with the defense draped all over her too. Her shooting was first-class though. She seemed to hit shots almost effortlessly from beyond the arc. On the other side of the ball, Lynch provided stupendous defense that fueled the team. Overall, the solid team-first mentality, along with efficient long-range shooting made her a key feature.

[player_tooltip player_id='269256' first='Colleen' last='Phiri'] (2025) | 5'11 Forward | Tilton

The McDonald's All-American nominee came into the game hitting momentous shots from long-range and was a major target diving after screens were set. Her ability to make shots were a staple for Tilton in this win. Phiri also showcased a soft touch around the rim while trekking down the lane. The intensity provided charged her teammates up. Colleen brought it all game.

[player_tooltip player_id='287177' first='Ella' last='Andrews'] (2025) | 6'0 Foward | Dexter Southfield

Ella exhibited her versatility from the forward position and made an impact with her crowding defense, as well as with her offensive contributions. Ella was doing a lot of the little things that don't always show up on the stat-sheet. She brought a dependability that her teammates could benefit from. Ella was able to stay on multiple players through switches and various other situations that required her to defend someone not at her position. She had an early block in the first period on that was nothing short of a statement.

[player_tooltip player_id='393296' first='Izzy' last='Adams'] (2026) | 5'7 PG | Dexter Southfield

Watching Izzy run the show for Dexter was marvelous. She's even more dynamic that originally presumed. Adam's is incredibly hostile with her takes to the rim, constantly putting pressure on defenders. Her change of heights and speeds made her a tough cover from the start of the game. Adams was the catalyst for a fair amount of the offense. Her teammates seemed to feed off her aggressiveness, especially to the rim. Izzy showcased her knack for finishing with both hands, regardless of the angle. She carved out space even with defender tightly in her space. Her defense was particularly strong too. Izzy was able to get some tie ups and pick up some deflections while staying with her matchup.

[player_tooltip player_id='975744' first='Ella' last='Pepper'] (2028) | 6'4 Forward | Dexter Southfield

The freshman was listed as a big, but her versatility at various spots around the floor was exhibited in this game. With [player_tooltip player_id='340831' first='Avery' last='Bollin'] and Brook- Nunnally-Gardner out there with her, she played from the high-post to the wing. This length in the lineup was an interesting watch.

Early on, Tilton seemed to put an emphasis on physicality and made it hard for Ella to get going in the halfcourt at first. As the game went on, especially when the team switched things up on defense and went to the 2-3 zone, Pepper found herself able to make some plays to quickly to go coast-to-coast for some easy points. Even in a game where she isn't the most productive from the start, its intriguing to see how a player of her caliber can impact the game with just her presence alone.

[player_tooltip player_id='299953' first='Bela' last='Cucuta'] (2026) | 5'10 CG | Tilton

Bela's assertiveness is a distinctive quality to her game. She came out the gates swinging and her persistence being a shot-maker paid off. Cucuta found her shot after getting clean looks moving without the ball and then she transitioned to hitting some off the dribble. She got to the lane too, which opened things up for other shooters. Bela's tendency to hit big shots made her essential for Tilton.

[player_tooltip player_id='481354' first='Brooke' last='Nunnally-Gardner'] (2025) | 6'0 PF/C | Dexter Southfield

Brooke had her work cut out for her in this game. She was tasked with putting a stop to one of the top players at her position, securing rebounds, maintaining a paint presence, scraping for loose balls and even scoring which would keep an offensive star honest. Nunnally-Gardner's efforts in the game didn't go unnoticed though. She played her position well and as the game stretched on, she started to get cleaner looks on the drives. The finishes were strong with full extension to get over hugging defenders. She commands attention in the paint. Brooke provided solid defense herself, especially in and around the paint. This made it hard for Tilton to operate at times. Brooke's foundational play and hard work was worthy of mention.
