Millennium/Salpointe Catholic Notes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On<strong> January 18^th</strong> I took in a game between two of the top teams in the state in <strong>Goodyear Millennium</strong> and <strong>Tucson Salpointe Catholic</strong>.&nbsp; <strong>Millennium</strong> traveled to<strong> Tucson</strong> having not lost to an Arizona high school all season. <strong>Salpointe</strong> came in only losing to one in state opponent which was an early season game. <strong>Millennium</strong> jumped out to an early lead and led at the half 33-30. A 20-10 third quarter by <strong>Salpointe</strong> gave them a slim lead heading into the final quarter. Despite multiple efforts by <strong>Millennium</strong> to come back, <strong>Salpointe</strong> held on for a 65-53 win. In the 2^nd half she hit some tough perimeter shots to lead her squad to victory. At times she was able to split the double team and create for herself and her teammates. Every shot that left her hand looked like it was going in and most of them did to the tune of 75% 3pt shooting percentage. She made some clutch three pointers in the 2^nd half that kept her squad within reach. She rebounded, played very sound defense and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
