Playmakers at The Platform

Grand Rapids Catholic Central defeated Portland 47-39, Grand Rapids West Catholic defeated Holt 56-46, Haslett defeated Muskegon 56-46, and Rockford defeated Tecumseh 51-45. Anna contributed in all phases, knocking down three triples, dishing multiple assists, securing offensive rebounds, and blocking a shot for the Falcons. Her aggressive effort on both ends and confidence with the ball stood out. Kamrin drove hard to the basket, converting an and-one layup, and finished a strong offensive rebound putback off two. Alexis was a relentless scorer in the paint, scoring off two feet, sprinting ahead to score layups in transition, and driving with authority to the basket. She outraced an opponent to secure a loose ball at half-court and finished the play with a layup. Jaya sealed her defender inside, high-pointed the pass, and scored off two feet. She buried a corner and straightway 3, then made an excellent jump pass to a teammate off the dribble. Jaya wreaked havoc with her defensive effort, relentlessly pursued rebounds, created open looks for teammates, and scored multiple ways. Christina was crucial to their comeback as she attacked downhill to score layups, drilled a corner 3, and converted a sweet reverse layup in traffic. Christina pushed the ball with pace off of a defensive rebound to beat everyone down the court for a layup and used an effective spin dribble in the high post to score a left-handed layup. Her toughness and ability to raise her level of play ignited the team.
