Class of 2028: Final 5

To close out the debut content for the 2028 class, we'll highlight the final five and five more to keep tabs on to close out this round of rankings content updates.    There are still plenty of talented guards, and because Stremlow has some size, she's seen most of her minutes this season in the Verona frontcourt. She's more physical than I expected, an excellent rebounder, and attack posts off the dribble. Macy is the latest Stremlow on the girls' side to come in and immediately impact winning for the Wildcats.      The Kettle Moraine guard has come alive in these last four games. In her previous four games, heading into a massive Classic Eight game with Muskego tonight, the Laser newcomer is averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 50/43/100 splits. In the early going, you could tell she was trying to find her footing and where she fit alongside an experienced group of kids, but she's comfortable now. Lodes looks more confident, doesn't hesitate when the ball gets in her hands, and she's attacking off the dribble against talented kids. She has zero fear at the moment. She's reacting to what defenses are giving her.      The Flyway has plenty of talent, although it's concentrated at Laconia. However, as a newcomer, Christian is leading the conference in scoring. She's been a reliable volume scorer for a team in the top half of the conference. One main reason she's been as reliable is how aggressive she is and how often that leads to her getting to the free-throw line. As an 85% free-throw shooter, getting to the line almost seven times per game is a perfect way to keep the scoreboard going in the right direction.      Wauwatosa East has a rotation that made them the "best of the rest" last season in D2, with a real shot at winning a D2 title this season. Due to that, Pudelko hasn't seen many minutes but has looked solid in her time. She's an athletic and long athlete who can make plays on the defensive end, be a threat as a screener, and has a shot that teams will respect.        Smaller guards must be better than anyone to be competitive, and Mester is a talented kid. Her creativity sets her apart as a newcomer. She handles the ball at a high level, has a quick first step, and can make shots off the dribble.
