Cleaning The Glass: Mid-Card Rebound Monsters

We're on the Road to WrestleMania and more importantly in Kansas, we are on the highway to the State Basketball Tournaments.   Yes, a 48-year-old scout just admitted that he still loves professional wrestling. I also enjoy scouting prep basketball and I am still on a high from watching an intense Derby versus Maize South game last Friday.   Here is a look at not necessarily the top rebounders in Kansas, but the rebounders on the mid-card statistically.   Each of these athletes is averaging nine rebounds per game, but just short of averaging double-digit boards per game.   This is not an all-inclusive list. Stats for this report were found on Max Preps, and not all teams provide public stats.   Each of these athletes will be called upon to control the boards as sub-state play begins in Class 3A and 2A next week.   [player_tooltip player_id='1202726' first='Remi' last='Martin'], 5'6”, PF/SG, South Central, ‘27   The South Central sophomore is averaging 9.9 rebounds per game. She is scoring 8.6 points for the Timberwolves.   Isabel Hackney, 5'3”, CG, South Central, '25   Martin is not the only wolf taking bites off the boards. Hackney is averaging 9.8 rebounds per contest. She is also scoring 12.9 points and making 4.2 steals per game for South Central.   [player_tooltip player_id='1098894' first='Abby' last='Theiss'], 6'0”, PF, Christ Prep Academy, ‘25   Chris Prep has a senior who is filling up her stat line. Theiss is just short of averaging a double-double for the season. She is grabbing 9.8 rebounds per contest while scoring 12.5 points per game for the Patriots.   [player_tooltip player_id='1202728' first='Jordyn' last='Cox'], 5'7”, CG, Northern Valley, '27   Cox is hitting the boards for the Huskies. She is grabbing 9.7 rebounds per game and scoring 9.6 points. She has also been impacting the game on the defensive end with 4.2 steals per contest.   [player_tooltip player_id='1057439' first='Jasmine' last='Wood'], 5'10”, PF, Satanta, '27   Wood is the first prospect on this list currently ranked. She is ranked No. 82 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She is grabbing 9.7 rebounds for the Indians.   [player_tooltip player_id='544017' first='Shamari' last='Lewis'], 6'0”, SG, Liberal, ‘26   Lewis is the highest-ranked athlete in this group. She is ranked No. 4 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She is averaging 9.7 rebounds and scoring 17.9 points per game. The most impressive aspect of her game is that she is willing to hit the boards so hard as a guard.   [player_tooltip player_id='1107857' first='Jaylynn' last='Hunt'], 5'11”, SG, Wyandotte, ‘25   Another guard cleaning the glass plays on the complete opposite side of the state as the Liberal's Lewis. Wyandotte's Hunt is pulling 9.6 rebounds off the glass for the Bulldogs. She is also 9.6 points per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='892365' first='Kamry' last='Getz'], 5'11”, PF, Quinter, ‘27   Getz is ranked No. 94 by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas. She is scoring 11.4 points per game and grabbing 9.3 rebounds per contest. Getz is a monster in the paint and shooting an impressive 54 percent from the field.   Jacksen Powell, 5'9”, SF, Erie, ‘25   Powell has been cleaning the glass in Southeast Kansas Gyms. The multi-sport athlete is grabbing 9.3 rebounds per and scoring 10.6 points per game. She also plays volleyball and softball for the Red Devils. She is also averaging three assists and three-plus steals per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='1112636' first='Brynlyn' last='Brockman'], 5'10”, PF/C, Blue Valley Randolph, ‘26   Brockman has been hitting the glass and butting heads for the Rams. She is grabbing 9.2 rebounds per game and scoring 13.1 points.   [player_tooltip player_id='1149686' first='Cayten' last='Cummings'], 5'10”, SF, Yates Center, ‘27   The two-sport prospect from Yates Center has been filling up box scores and boxing out for the Wildcats. She is scoring 15.3 points per contest and averaging 9.1 rebounds. She is set to be added to PGH rankings and is already ranked by Prep Dig Kansas for her volleyball skills.   Olivia Carlson, 5'9”, SF, Centre, ‘25   Carlson has been hanging and banging for the Cougars, Brother! She is averaging 9.1 rebounds and scoring 11 points per game for Centre. She is also creating 2.7 steals per game during her senior campaign.   Adrian Harrison, 5'5”, SF, Herington, ‘25   Harrison has been a locomotive for the Railroaders. She is collecting 9.1 rebounds per game. She is a physical athlete and a disciplined player.
