COACH’S BOX: Camden County High School vs Cherokee High School

I had a front row seat to all the talent that was on display in Canton, GA. This game was full of exciting plays on both ends of the floor and the talent was through the roof for Cherokee. A player that never stops working hard and knows how to get open and hit off balance shots. Even through the face guard she was able to hit some shots and fuel her Cherokee team. One of the best shooters in the state. A player that runs the floor and never seems to get tired. A gamechanger on both ends of the floor who can score at all 3 levels. She is a player who has all the intangibles to play at the next level but will be playing Lacrosse next year for USF. A point guard who can facilitate and score when needed. She made some tough shots in the paint and found her teammates in the open floor. It's hard to believe she is only a freshman but plays with so much poise and control. A player that changed the game with her ability to use her length on defense. She pressured the ball and created turnovers which led to easy scoring opportunities. A player that can score from any spot on the floor. She put up 28 points and had a huge second quarter which pushed her team out front. A player that knows how to get to her spots to create scoring opportunities. She is not afraid to battle on the box and score through contact. She showed her ability to catch at the high post and get to the rim. A player who knows how to use her size to score through contact. Her post presence was key for Camden in the 1st half as she rallied off the first 6 points of the game.
