Four Stars Of The Game: Junior Varsity Action In Maize

In this article:
I don’t scout a ton of junior varsity ball, but I took in a JV match since I was so far from home on Friday.
Here are the four stars of the game from a Maize South 45-38 win over Derby. The game was impressive enough to make me consider watching more junior varsity games next season.
Also since I don’t cover junior varsity games much, I have made this report a”Free Report” that does not require a subscription to read so feel free to share it on social media for all to see.
Addison Davee Addison Davee 6'3" | C Maize South | 2027 KS , 6’3”, C, Maize South, ‘27
Davee is ranked No. 78 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She only played two quarters in the JV game and then played during the varsity game. She is smooth with her back to the basket and scores going to her right or left. She made one really pretty baby hook in the paint. She scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in the Mavericks win.

Hill is ranked No. 42 overall by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas. She is a solid shooter from deep, she scored 12 points in the game. All of them came from behind the 3-point line. She plays solid defense in both games but took on a more secondary scoring role in the varsity loss to Derby. Both Hill and Davee were in Maize South’s top eight rotation.
Farrah Fossah, 5’8”, SF, Maize South, ‘28
Fossah was a freshman who performed well in the junior varsity game. She is a grinder and willing to clean the boards. She finished with a game-high 11 rebounds. She scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. She is a physical athlete who will make opposing teams regret putting her on the charity stripe. Fossah is currently unranked, but that will be remedied once the season is completed.
Maya Harris Maya Harris 5'4" | PG Derby | 2027 State KS , 5’8”, PG, Derby, ‘27
Harris had a solid game for the Panthers. We have her listed as a point guard, but I think her future is at the shooting guard or small forward. She is currently ranked No. 84 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds for Derby in the loss. She has quick feet and quick hands She can score from deep as she converted 3-of-7 attempts from 3-point range.
