Knockout Week:Last Major Week of High School Basketball

This week marks the final week in public school battles, as well as the opening district tournament week for Division ll-A. So I am just going to dub this Knockout Week as either people go home or they get knocked back down in the standings. Either way, it kind of sounds fitting don't you agree?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Throughout the state, there were 94 games in action Monday night as this year winds down. There were definitely some tough battles in the mix that had postseason implications. She was hot from the field, finishing with 18 points. This young lady is talented and it was on display as she was the leading catalyst for her ball club. She dropped four 3balls from the arc, shooting it with confidence and confirmation. Not only was she scoring buckets she was locking up on the defensive end as well, getting 3 steals. Ari laid it all on the line last night and tapped off a solid career for the Lady Irish. EJ was on fire for the Lady Panthers as she scored 19 points against MTCS. From unleashing the mid-range J to knocking it down from the arc, she was shooting with confidence. In fact she may not be a top 3 option for them, however she does work. Ella is like the silent assassin lurking in the background. She is a 3-level scoring threat that strikes when least expected. You think you have one of her teammates cornered and she springs into action knocking down shots in the clutch. She has range to her game but gets it done by any means necessary. For starters, she's a young lady who can do work on the interior as well as step out and stretch the floor. She is active in the defensive end, grabbing boards, getting steals, and blocking shots. She has played a big-time role this year for her club and continues to do so. Last night she finished with 17p has her club improved to 20-5. Look for her to carry her style of play into the postseason as her club looks to bring home the trophy this year.<br><br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
