Today we get back to revealing the 2024-25 Miss Tennessee basketball finalist. We now start to move into the public sector where there are some really tough young ladies who know how to play ball. This article will feature young ladies from the 1A classification. As I have mentioned before, they may play in the lowest division based on school enrollment, but these student-athletes know how to play ball.

Coaches and media members from around the state (sorry, I am not one), took a pool of players and nominated the three top players in each classification. Unfortunately, we won't know the winners for a few weeks as a committee of sports writers from across the state come together and vote. There will be a ceremony at MTSU's Tucker Theatre on March 18th, announcing the winners of this year's awards.

No stranger to this stage at all, but the MTSU signee is up for this award for a third time. In 2023 she won the award and looks to do so this year as well. She is averaging close to a double-double in every single contest, dropping 20+ ppg and owning the boards in double figures. She is the anchor in the middle, where she deters shots from those who dare to even get close to the rim. Her body of work speaks for itself, however, it's her presence that ignites her teammates around her. WCHS has been on a tear ever since she stepped foot on campus. This girl is solid and a tremendous pick-up for the Lady Raiders program. Look for her to continue to lead her team to new heights in the postseason.

One of the most exciting players not only in Class A, but in the state as well. She has been terrorizing opponents, averaging 29 ppg, 13 rpg, 5spg, and 5apg. She has the makeup to be a top prospect in the state. She has size, speed, handles, scoring ability, lockdown capabilities on the defensive end, and shoot, pretty much everything a top prospect needs to gain the eyes of collegiate coaches. She brings the energy that fuels her team. Most importantly, she is as consistent as they come, no matter the platform (regular season, summer, camps, ect.). Big-time prospect who is going to set records throughout her career.

When I think of this young lady, I just think of a lunch pail kind of gal. Rosie the Riveter. She can do all things and then some. She has put in the work for sure and has flourished over the years. She is a 6'0 wing who is committed to Bryan College. They got a steal in this young lady. Fundamentally sound, she works hard, plays hard, and leaves everything she has on the floor. Talented kid who has set the standard for her program.

These are the young ladies who just missed the cut. By no means should their accomplishments need to go unnoticed. Though they weren't a part of the three finalists, their body of work and style of play still need to be mentioned as they too have had a phenomenal season.

Most of the time there is a learning curve when it comes to the levels of basketball. This young lady had a sophomore surge, where she helped propel her ball club this season. Averaging 18 points a game, she was what this Lady Jackets program needed to turn around their fortunes and get back to state contention. Rayanna is talented on both ends of the floor. Putting the ball in the hole is one thing, but contributing in other facets of the game, she does well at that too. Rebounds, steals, and assists, a solid two-way player who will build upon the success of this year and parlay it towards future opportunities.

Sharpshooter who can score it from anywhere on the floor. An exciting prospect to watch as she dazzles the crowd and amazes even her own teammates with her creative ways of scoring. She can play with the ball primarily in her hands or play without, either way she is going to figure out how to get a bucket. Bringing in 22.9 ppg and shooting 41.3% from the arc, this young lady is a scoring machine and one of the top ones in her class.

Big PG who is a big deal in this classification. I used the word elevate to describe her game and I am going to stick with that word as she uplifts those who are around her. This kid can hoop, pure and simple. It's her ability to make those around her even better, which is so illuminating. They feed off her energy and respond to it as she is a selfless player who can set the tone. Her scoring ways are multiple, especially from various spots on the floor. She is a special talent who is close to averaging 20 ppg.
