Stanton High School secured an impressive 51-50 victory on Monday evening against #13 Lenox High School on the road. In the win the main producer for the Viqueens was senior Forward, [player_tooltip player_id='842552' first='Hannah' last='Olson']. Olson finished things off with a stat line of 17 points on 6-15 shooting, 14 rebounds, and 3 steals. She also dished out 5 assists on the offensive end. Olson has been one of the team's main producers her entire career and it's nice to see that she is ending things on a positive note. She does a great job of controlling and commanding all around the hoop. It's nice to see that still being consistent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1188262' first='Cadance' last='Shiflett'] may only be a freshman but she holds herself to a high standard and that makes her seem like an upperclassman out on the floor. Shiflett is a Forward that understands the game at a steady pass and she is always trying to better herself. In Diagonal's contest on Monday, Shiflett led her team in scoring from the field while also helping in the categories of rebounding and defending the lane. Throughout the season, Shiflett is leading her team in PPG and RPG with almost a double-double. I'm sure that is going to continue to be a constant moving into her Sophomore season.

Last night [player_tooltip player_id='674217' first='Josie' last='Kuper'] put together one of the best stat lines of the high school season throughout the state, as well as one of the best stat lines of her basketball career so far. In a 55-22 win, Kuper recorded 32 points (14-18), 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals. In this battle there was no one that could match with the inside presence of Kuper in the middle. She was too big, too strong, and too good for everyone that came into her way. It'll be exciting to see the progress of Kuper over the next few years at Simpson. If she works on the right things and takes it seriously, she could be a real weapon at that next level with her natural height.

The GMG Wolverines are led by a mixture of prospects, mainly from their underclassmen group. They have a number of freshman that have produced in multiple ways this Winter and that's going to play well for them in the long run. Someone out of their 2028 Class, who had a solid showing in her contest last night was Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='1188263' first='Arianna' last='Pierce']. Pierce isn't usually a team leader in PPG but she was yesterday in some efficient efforts. She finished things off with over 10 points on the game on over 50% shooting. This isn't the team's best showing of the season but it is a respectable one. They only lost by 9 points after free throws, showing how close their effort was prior to the buzzer sounding.

[player_tooltip player_id='873160' first='Kinzee' last='Hinders'] is a name that we are going to hear for years to come out of Iowa at the D3 level with her commitment to Briar Cliff. This is also a name we are going to hear quite often the next couple of weeks with the 1A State Playoffs if everything goes according to plan for the Mustangs. Hinder put together a complete showing in her Monday night contest against Ridge View with an easy 12 points (6-10), 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assist performance to help her team to an overall 17-3 record. This isn't anything out of the ordinary. We are used to Hinder putting up good numbers and the Mustangs winning. Two common themes I think we are going to continue to see moving forward these next few weeks.
