Riverside went 2-0 this week, and Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='805285' first='Maia' last='Brown'] had a fantastic week. Maia has taken a leap this year in an offense she has been given more responsibility. She is a great shooter and a good passer. She had 25 in a win over Independence and 13 in a win over Stone Bridge.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110818' first='Ziyana' last='Williams'] had a couple of solid weeks for a Hayfield team that has been playing some great ball over the past month. Ziyana is a force in the paint on both ends and is very physical. She has added an impactful interior presence for Hayfield this season, and she is having a nice close to the regular season. She had 17 against Mount Vernon, then had 11 against Justice.

[player_tooltip player_id='755777' first='Eva' last='Philips'] is a great all-around player for Hayfield. Eva is a reliable spot-up shooter, and she competes on the defensive end. She has great defensive versatility, and she does a good job rebounding. Eva had 20 points against Justice and did a good job filling the stat sheet earlier in the week against Mount Vernon.

[player_tooltip player_id='666291' first='Mariah' last='Overton'] is another transfer that has been a huge piece for Hayfield this year. Mariah is a good shooter and can play both guard positions. She defends well and has nice hands to force ball handlers into turnovers. Mariah had 20 points and 5 rebounds in a blowout win over Justice.

Woodgrove faced off with Broad Run this week in a matchup I was excited for. Both of these teams have a lot of weapons on offense and can score. May is a two-guard with good size for the position. She is a terrific three-point shooter but does a good job attacking the rim. May moves without the ball well and can mix it up in the paint. May had 28 in an 8-point win over Broad Run.

Breanne Blubaugh is a player who has stood out to me in the couple of times I've watched her play for Riverside. In a game Vs. Briar Woods last year, she shot the ball well, and her shooting ability stood out to me. Breanne moves without the ball to get open looks, and she has a fast release. Breanne had a big week shooting the ball. She knocked down 7 threes, finishing with 23 against Stone Bridge, and had 14 against Independence earlier in the week.
