Prospect Spotlight: Class 2A Athletes Playing For Seeding

Only three Fridays remain in the prep basketball regular season.   Most teams have between four and five games left on their schedules and are fighting for post-season seeding.   Here is a look at seven ranked prospects on Class 2A teams fighting for top seeds in sub-state play.   [player_tooltip player_id='872349' first='Rori' last='Miles'], 5'5”, PG, Bennington, ‘25   Miles is among the top scorers in Kansas. The Bennington prospect is scoring 20.4 points per game. She is a dead-eye from the free-throw line shooting an impressive 89 percent. She puts up a ton of shots as she has converted on 117-of-247 shot attempts from the field. Bennington is 14-3 and currenlty sits as the No. 3 seed in the Moundridge region.   [player_tooltip player_id='1042519' first='Teagan' last='Warner'], 5'9”, PF, Southeast, ‘25   Warner is ranked No. 116 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025. She leads the Lancers in scoring averaging 11.2 points per game. She is also averaging 8.8 rebounds per contest.  Warner is looking for back-to-back seasons with 100-plus attempted free throws. She has converted on 52-of-95 attempts at the line this season. Southeast is 13-4 this season and is currently projected to be the No. 3 Seed in the Yates Center Region.   [player_tooltip player_id='719106' first='Cammi' last='Unruh'], 5'8”, CG, Moundridge, ‘26   Moundridge owns a record of 15-2 and currently has a half-game lead to finish as the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A Moundridge Region. Unruh is the leading scorer for the Wildcats. She is averaging 17.1 points per game. She is an accurate shooter currently hitting 54 percent of her shots from the field and 87 percent from the free-throw line. Moundridge has three games remaining including a key game against Inman tonight.   [player_tooltip player_id='544027' first='Avery' last='Scott'], 6'0”, C, Stanton County, ‘26   Stanton County's Scott is one of the top “Bigs” in the state. She is averaging a double-double on the season. She is scoring 15.1 points and 15.7 rebounds per game.  She primarily scores near the basket on in transition. She is shooting 44 percent from the field through 15 games. The Trojans are currently holding off Syracuse and Medicine Lodge for the No. 8 Seed in the Sublette Region.   [player_tooltip player_id='873993' first='Lilly' last='Hoffman'], 5'8”, SG, Udall, ‘27   Hoffman is the leading scorer for Udall. The Eagles have an 8-10 record but could make a late push for a top-eight seed in the Moundridge region. She is averaging 17.5 points per game after scoring 16-plus points per game as a freshman. The sophomore guard is also averaging an eye-popping 5.4 steals per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='836279' first='Reece' last='Stickney'], 5'6”, SF, Ellinwood, ‘27   Ellinwood is currently projected to be the No. 3 seed in the Sublette Region with a record of 14-2. Stickney is the leading scorer for the Eagles. She is averaging 16.6 points per game. Her stat line is loaded with averages of 5.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.4 steals per contest. Ellinwood has four regular season games left with three of them on the road. Stickney is ranked No. 112 in the Kansas Class of 2027.   [player_tooltip player_id='883539' first='Chesney' last='Marshall'], 5'8”, PG/SG, Oakley, ‘28   Marshall is having a stellar freshman season for the Plainsmen. She is ranked No. 4 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. Through 16 games she is averaging 11.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.2 assists per game. Oakley has a record of 12-5 and has a one-game lead over Sylvan-Lucas for the No. 5 Seed in the Sublette Region.
