The EBF Rockets are my favorite to win the 2A Class State Title next week in Des Moines. This group brings together a few key elements and that's why they are so tough to beat. They have a heavy senior-led group, they have size at every position, they have multiple college committed athletes, and they have a great coaching system in place. All of these things are a major key into a team's success in the long run and that's why I think they can go all the way. Someone from this team that has recently committed to compete at the next level this fall is their starting SG, [player_tooltip player_id='645206' first='Ava' last='Eastlick']. Eastlick has been a staple of this program for years. She has been someone that her teammates can trust in to get an open look on the offensive end, while being a scrappy defender as well. If you are an undersized guard, you have to be able to hit open shots from deep and you have to be able to defend. If you do both of those things, you can play at the next level and Eastlick checks both of those boxes.

We have seen what [player_tooltip player_id='347823' first='Adyson' last='Jeltema'] can do on the varsity floor over the years and soon she will be preparing to take that step to the next level to compete with NAIA - Dordt out of Nebraska. Jeltema will bring her size, physicality, soft touch, and versatile ability to the college ranks in hopes of helping out Dordt in anyway she can. With Jeltema's size, skill level, and smart play-style, I would think that she is going to see the floor early on in her career. She could be a natural 3 or 4 for her team, depending on what is asked of her. Every time we have mentioned MOC - Floyd Valley High School over the past 3 years, it usually has to do with Jeltema and how successful she is being. She does still have a senior year to go in the high school ranks but once that's over, I'm sure she will be ready to ride with her collegiate program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1092002' first='Ava' last='Erger'] of Cedar Rapids - Jefferson High School is going to join up with the Cedar Rapids Coe Hawks following this school year to compete in multiple sports at the next level. Erger, a 5'5 SG, will have the chance to compete on the hardwood for Basketball and on the Softball diamond as well. From the looks of it, Erger's main sport is Softball but that doesn't mean she won't make strides on the basketball court. This year at Jefferson, Erger has been someone that has had promising moments. She has demonstrated that she is a coordinated athlete with a high motor and she has a lot of dedication to whatever she is putting her mind to. I'm not sure If Erger stays as a duel sport athlete her whole career but I wouldn't be surprised if so either.

[player_tooltip player_id='336029' first='Pierre-Noelle' last='Tcheuhchoua'] didn't have a ton of offers throughout her high school career but it only takes one. It only takes one coach or program to believe in you and you can do amazing things. That's what we have here. PNT committed this morning to compete at D1 - Jackson State out of Mississippi. This relationship could be an impactful one for both parties. PNT has size, a good skill set as a Forward/Center, and she understands the X's/O's. Whenever she catches on the block or in the post, she is never pressured to make a bad choice or to make a rash decisions. Instead, she lets the game come to her in a calm manner and she see's success because of that in real time. With this commitment, PNT will have a chance to learn the game from other D1 prospects in practice every day and that's only going to make her better with time. Over her high school career she has been a respectable producer on and off of the ball. I hope that continues as she moves forward with her basketball journey.

There are several prospects that commit to the next level without hitting their full potential yet. College is a place that lets you unlock what you can really be, as long as you are in the right place. I have a feeling that [player_tooltip player_id='842631' first='Keira' last='McCormick'] could turn into a consistent college producer if she keeps on working on her craft. McCormick has the height that all coaches love. She also has a good touch on the ball and good coordination overall. I'd say she has a very nice foundation to build on in the right system. It won't be easy but it's doable. She has always been a better than average rebounder, along with producer near the hoop. I expect that to become greater and more dominant over-time. If that happens, everyone else better watch out cause Simpson is going to have a beast on their hands.
