Hinton brought home the 2A Championship last week when they made a historic run throughout the week. This same Hinton team is going to return next Winter and they are going to be favored to go back-to-back as State Champs because they return everyone, along with adding some vital pieces that they didn't have this past season due to injury. One of their Senior leaders will be [player_tooltip player_id='1190190' first='Karlyn' last='Kovarna'], who just put together a week to remember. Kovarna chipped in during every contest this past week at the SF/CG position. She rebounded thoroughly near the rim, grabbing almost double digits in rebounds each game. She scored when she had time and space near the bucket, as well as away from the rim and she defended her position to a T. If she can replicate this again next season in whatever role she is given, I'm sure the Blackhawks will continue to see more success.

Norwalk brings several talented prospects back next year, one of them being SF - [player_tooltip player_id='1117188' first='Pearl' last='Brown']. Brown was the hero for her Warrior's team last week when she scored a bucket at the buzzer off of an offensive rebound to move her team onto the next round of the State Playoffs. I would venture to say that Brown is a player of opportunity. She moves well in space and seemingly always knows where to go when she has another teammate coming into her area on the attack. She is an accurate finisher at the rim, with or without contact. All while being a quality teammate to those around her. If she happens to have a contest that isn't so great, she doesnt let it impact her or rub off on others in a negative way. Instead she always competes with a positive attitude and that can take you a long way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1170933' first='Rifenta' last='Kisichy'] might be a name that you are unfamiliar with right now but not for long. Kisichy is a Forward prospect competing for the Iowa School for the Deaf and she does a great job of producing each night that she gets to compete. Kisichy is the definition of a back-to-the-basket type prospect. This is someone that mainly maneuvers by the rim on both ends. Offensively, she is looked too by her team to be consistent underneath at scoring. Defensively, she is tasked with blocking anyone that might be coming into the lane for a take at the rim. Overall, Kisichy put together a really nice season for her Junior year and I still think we have the best yet to come.

We will need to see [player_tooltip player_id='1194333' first='Addy' last='Oetker'] a few more times this AAU season on the road to really evaluate where she is against some high level competition but from the looks of it, Oetker can hoop. Oetker is an agile PG that understands her time, spacing, and the situation unfolding around her at all times on the floor. She knows where her teammates are supposed to be at all times and she is willing to make things happen if her team's system happens to break down. This is someone that is a natural out on the floor. She moves smoother than most others I've seen for her age level and I'm excited to see how she can build off of her most recent Junior season with Des Moines Christian.

Along with [player_tooltip player_id='1117188' first='Pearl' last='Brown'], [player_tooltip player_id='1117324' first='Hannah' last='Overholser'] will return next season to the Norwalk Warriors lineup and I'm assuming she will be a starter once again for this program. Overholser, a 5'9 CG, moves well off of the ball. Her production primarily comes off of the ball when she is cutting or slashing to the hoop but can also take her defender off the dribble if need be. This isn't the type of player that will destroy you by scoring but more-so by doing everything else. She will also score it here and there but most importantly - she can defend multiple guard positions, she boards hard off of missed attempts, she communicates well with others, and she is one of the first on the floor for a loose ball if the opportunity presents itself. Which just speaks to her willingness and effort level. If you want a chance to be a great program, you have to have prospects who are willing to sacrifice and we have that here with Overholser.
