Many might not know [player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] of Waverly-Shell Rock but you should. Frazell has what all coaches love. She has better than average height at 5'11, she has even lengthier arms than that, she can move well at all three levels on the court, and most importantly - she knows how to lead by example. Frazell has been a high end producer for years now. She puts her team on her back on a consistent basis on the Varsity floor and her numbers reflect that. In this Update, Frazell moves to #8. This placement demonstrates what she can really do. She can be the definition of a difference-maker if you give her a chance. We have seen that both in the state of Iowa and on the road with her AIA AAU team.

[player_tooltip player_id='502096' first='KeaOnna' last='Worley'] is coming off a very successful Sophomore high school campaign, leading her team to the 5A State Tournament as their starting PG. Worley is a leader. Someone a coach can trust with the ball to make the right play in some suspenseful moments. Off the dribble, she has a nasty cross going either way, she can score with a deep jumper, a floater within the midrange or at the hoop once she gets down-hill. It's only Worley's sophomore summer in AAU but she will start again for her 17U Missouri Phenom - Iowa hub team. A team that is going to have 4 other D1 players basically around her at all times. If Worley can get those players open to convert consistently, she is going to look like a Point God, not just a Point Guard to outside recruiters.

One of the most recruited 2027's that Iowa has so far is [player_tooltip player_id='677842' first='Tylee' last='Weite'] at the SG position. Weite competes for [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] EYBL and Des Moines - Valley High School throughout the Winters. Weite would be considered a natural SG, that has a beautiful shot whenever she lets it go. Doesn't matter how close or how deep it is from the hoop. Doesn't matter if it's contested or not. The shot always looks the exact same and that is one of the first signs of someone who could become a lethal weapon at the D1 level. She can do some other stuff like put it on the floor and get to the bucket off the dribble against weaker defenders but she stands out because of how well she can shoot it. That is for sure. She knows she has to build off of this ability moving into the Spring/Summer. If she does that and shows more facets to her game over-time, she should continue to field D1 offers until she makes a commitment to compete at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='644558' first='Daya' last='Phillips'] is somewhat slept on as a recruit because of where she plays throughout the Winter. Johnston's roster is filled with future D1 guards, so it's tough to compare Phillips to others with her limited time but this last half of the high school season, she showed her worth as a starter and she stood out while doing so. She might not of put up the biggest numbers for the Dragons but she ended up starting, scoring at the rim every couple of minutes per game, while also stacking some rebounds, assists, and steals defensively. Phillips likes to compete off of the ball at the 2 spot more times than not and she can get hot in a hurry when she is in rhythm. We are two years into this but I'm hoping in that next two years that she take the floor with total confidence. When she plays like that, she is extremely hard to stop throughout the entire duration of a ball-game.

Every time that we saw [player_tooltip player_id='863283' first='Harlow' last='Griffin'] this Winter, she was doing all that she could with her Marion team at the CG/SF position to make a difference. Griffin is a seasoned prospect, that happens to be a mismatch problem for most. She is right under 6'0 and she can either take smaller players to the rim for a simple finish or she can step out against bigger defenders and draw them out to attack the middle for another easy look. If they don't close out, she will not hesitate to let it fly from all over the court. This Winter she was very efficient in her abilities. She checks pff a lot of boxes that college recruiters will have already, she just needs to continue to work on her weaknesses.
