AOG Senior All Star Game: Team Nicholson Evaluations

On March 21st the first annual AOG Senior All-Star Game took place at the PHHacility. There were future collegiate players of all levels participating. The game had an exciting ending as it came down to the final possession. Team Hollerbach won by 3 points over Team Nicholson.   Here I look at the players who participated    Anderson is a big guard who flashed the potential to be a high-level combo guard at the collegiate level. She handled the ball very well and had some very nice passes. As usual, her shooting stroke was top-level from all three levels. The Grand Canyon University commit was voted 1st team all 4A conference and 4A Kino region player of the year.     The premier post player in the state showed why she is just that. She was a major physical presence in the paint and commanded a lot of attention. She rebounded exceptionally well and showed that her offensive game is expanding beyond the paint. She was voted the 6A Desert Valley Player of the Year and 1st team all 6A conference. Norah is Committed to Grand Canyon University.     Hess showed why she is one of the rising seniors in the state. Her offensive game is growing and was on display in this event. She was fast and aggressive in the open court. Being a lefty and attacking also made it hard to defend her. She constantly created contact when going to the basket. She was voted the 6A Premier Region defensive player of the year. Maci is committed to the College of Southern Idaho.     Morgan played a very good all-around game. She handled the ball well against defensive pressure and was able to create separation to get off her shots. On defense, she dug in and battled with active disruptive hands. She was voted the 4A Conference offensive player of the year, 4A Skyline Region player of the year, and offensive player of the year.     Vega is a good wing prospect who showed good offensive skills at the event. She is a confident and athletic player. She got to her spots offensively very well and finished consistently. Her athletic ability also translated to the defensive end as she was very disruptive with her length. She was voted the 6A Desert Southwest region player of the year.     Forney is a forward who battled and knew how to use her body in the paint. She is a good rebounder and a very good passer from the high post. She also played good weakside defense. Kierra was voted 4A Black Canyon All Region 1st team.
