Day 1 Eye Catching Forwards (Battle at the Hive) Oklahoma

The talent level was deep at the guard position from those 2026 that are making that last push of AAU to the 2028 and 2029 class that is loaded with talent. Excited to see what offers these 2026 will get and the growth of these young players. The versatility she has was a match up for opposing teams. Good handles in the open floor pushing the tempo off a steal or rebound. Good mid range jumper that stretched the defense out allowing her to get downhill in the gaps for the finish. Good vision in reading the help defense finding the open player cutting to the rim. Great low post skills with the drop step making her match up problem against a smaller 3 guard. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Long and low stance allowed her to cover a lot of space in the open floor on defense. An aggressive player defending the next pass getting several steals or deflections on the next pass. Moves quick in the press seeing the next pass being made giving her team a tall second line on the press., A player that is going to continue to work hard and get better. Moves great off the ball allowing her to play the stretch 4 position. Nice mid range shot from about 15 feet that stretched the defense opening up a driving lane for her. Quick hops and good hands on the offensive rebound helped her clean up several misses for her team. I really liked the way she runs the court filling the lanes on fastbreaks making a great option for the guard to pass too. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Defensively tall and long that moves her feet to work around the low post making it tough for easy buckets. Quick enough to contest a 3pt shot but not get blown by for a layup. A double double potential player every game. Showed good hands and body control in the low post dealing with the physical contact. Continually working to give the guards a open lane to pass to. Solid offensive rebounder that kept the ball high for the putback finish. Nice face up jumper from about 10 feet out. Played well with the other post giving her team a nice high low game option.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Showed patience on defense walling up with the right timing to block the shot without fouling. If she was not able to block the shot she did change the shot. Just as good of a rebounder on the defensive end as she was on the offensive end. I will say what caught my eye was the skill set she shoed in the games. Good hands, quick feet and basketball IQ Hustled and moved without the ball allowed to be in the right place to score the bucket. Showed some athleticism with the ball getting downhill to the paint off the edges. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Showed on defensive the she can defend the 3-5 spots with her quickness and sped. Good rebounder on both end of the court needing no outlet on the break as she showed good handles in transition. A very long athletic forward that showed a very soft touch around the basket., Runs the floor getting out in front on the breaks getting rim to rim. Nice mid range jumper that stretched the defense out when they sank back. Great offensive rebounder as she scored on many putbacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Defensively she was a shot block waiting to happen. Great timing on the jumps along with her reach was able to block many shots without fouling. Excellent defender on the low post allowing no free entry passes to the post. Great understanding of help rotation let the guards pressure up on the outside knowing that she was there to protect the rim. On the press she showed quick feet and good instinct creating several turnovers. A physical low post game allowed her to bang with the taller post players all day Saturday. A very effective drop step that created the space needed between her and the defender. Nice soft shot when facing up to the basket. Showed a good high post jumper from about 10-15 feet to go along with a smooth jump hook</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 2029 playing up she held her own not giving up much ground inside against the older players. A very solid rebounder that worked for positioning before the ball came off the rim.
