The dust has settled on the regional weekend. In a week, we'll know the field for the state tournament. As we inch closer to Sectional Semifinal matchups, we'll look at a few results from this weekend. We'll also look forward to matchups this upcoming weekend.

No. 5 Neenah beats No. 4 Hudson

The Rockets beat a talented Appleton North team after trailing by double digits in the first half, traveled across the state, and beat a well-rounded Hudson team. All that while, [player_tooltip player_id='533065' first='Rowan' last='Klesmit'] hasn't played her best basketball. The other Rockets have stepped up in a significant way. Celia Gentile has been excellent at the point of attack defensively and scored when needed, and [player_tooltip player_id='509694' first='Ellie' last='Buss'] has been a threat on the perimeter. Having kids like Rae Schultz and Alissa Ebel step up creates depth. The Rockets have made themselves into an intriguing sleeper team heading into sectionals.

No. 6 Kettle Moraine beats No. 3 Oregon

The guard talent at KM eventually won out against Oregon. [player_tooltip player_id='992511' first='Quinn' last='Lodes'] had an excellent first half and kept the Lasers in it, and [player_tooltip player_id='338955' first='Lola' last='Bond'] made some shots in the first half. After trailing by double digits, [player_tooltip player_id='602360' first='Keegan' last='Lodes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='767268' first='Emily' last='Gomez'] took over the final minutes. Gomez and Lodes got to the rim at will and got Kettle Moraine over the hump.

No. 5 Menasha over No. 1 Beaver Dam

The most shocking result in D2 was Menasha traveling to Beaver Dam and beating the Golden Beavers. Menasha lost [player_tooltip player_id='636285' first='Rayanna' last='Jenkins'] earlier in the season. [player_tooltip player_id='891648' first='Aria' last='Bilke'] and [player_tooltip player_id='914331' first='Hannah' last='Neubert'] were massive for them in the frontcourt, and the Bluejays earned a ticket to a sectional semifinal.

No. 3 Stoughton over No. 2 Milton

A Badger-Small vs. Badger-Large upset earned the Vikings a chance at Edgewood this Thursday. [player_tooltip player_id='401056' first='Ella' last='Hamacher'] is the one who makes everything work at Stoughton. The lefty can get downhill whenever she wants, and her ability to crash the glass makes her versatile. She makes her teammates better. Kids like Grace Schmidt also round out the Vikings roster.

No. 2 Madison Country Day over No. 2 Chesterton Academy

I had a hunch before the season that Country Day may be better than expected. [player_tooltip player_id='992517' first='Zami' last='Gary'] is a talented guard and has elevated the ceiling of this team, and as a newcomer, she's found plenty of comfort within her team's offense. It'll be an uphill battle against Albany/Monticello, but they've come a long way.
