The updated 2028 rankings are packed with promise and potential, and the girls ranked 5 through 10 are a perfect example of that. Each brings something different to the floor — whether it's scoring, defending, or creating for others. As the summer heats up and the grassroots circuit ramps up, these five players are looking to separate themselves from the pack. Here's a breakdown of what makes each of them special.

Isabella is a walking heat check. She has the ability to get hot and put points on the board at any moment. Whether it's a jumper, a three off the catch, or a floater in the lane, she has the skill to score from every spot on the floor. But what makes her even more dangerous is her feel for the game she isn't just a scorer. Isabella can pick apart defenses with good passing, delivering on-time and on-target assists to teammates in scoring positions. That balance of scoring and playmaking makes her one of the best guards in this class.

When it comes to upside, Nylah is the girl that comes to mind. Her combination of size, length, and athleticism gives her a high ceiling. Defensively, she's as versatile as they come capable of being at the top of a press, a shot-changer in the paint, and a lockdown defender in half-court. Her instincts and motor on that end of the floor make her a player other loves to play with. As she continues to grow and develop her offensive game this summer, don't be surprised if she starts climbing the rankings even more. She has all the physical tools to be special.

Due to an ongoing health issue, we didn't get to see a full season from Dawn — but what she's shown lately has been enough to remind everyone what she's capable of. She's one of the best pure shooters in the class, able to create and convert from deep whether she's working on the ball or coming off screens. Her range stretches the floor and makes defenses pay for even a sliver of space. But she's more than a shooter Dawn has real point guard instincts, able to push tempo, read the floor, and create transition opportunities with ease. As she gets back to full strength, expect her to be one of the top guards to watch.

Milania gave the public a quick preview of what's coming when she saw some varsity time late in the season. She's a problem in the open floor, using her quickness and downhill attacking style to put pressure on defenses. In transition, she's a blur, and she has the vision to make the right play when help rotates. In the half-court, Milania spaces the floor with her catch-and-shoot ability and is a dependable outlet when the offense gets stuck. On the defensive end, she shines her aggressive style forces turnovers and speeds up the game. Her two-way impact is hard to miss and will only grow with experience.

Hannah might be one of the most unique players in this group. She doesn't have a defined position — and that might be her greatest strength. She brings non-stop energy the moment she checks in, crashing the glass, defending multiple spots, and playing with heart on both ends. Offensively, she's unselfish taking what the defense gives her. Whether it's making hustle plays, rotating defensively, or finding open teammates, she just makes winning plays. Coaches love that kind of versatility and effort, and Hannah delivers both in full.
