This weekend was stacked with competitive matches that were hosted around the country. The level of play was at its peak for late April. The New England girls represented themselves well in total and certainly left a mark. There were some girls that were able to express themselves by putting on impressive performances that may've taken some by surprise. Whether it's some new players that're on radars now or others who may've fallen through the cracks a bit due to the sheer number of games that took place, there was a need to highlight those that played well. Below is a listing of some of the weekend's underrated performers.

Gianna was relied upon to get her teammates involved and initiate a lot of the action off the bounce. She did a great job evenly distributing the ball as well as being able to feed the post. What was particularly noteworthy was how Nichols was ready to pounce on the defensive end after a made basket. Even on the misses she ran back and had her head on a swivel to pick up players disrupting their transition offense. Within halfcourt action, Nichols was an agile and eager defender that slod her feet deftly. She mitigated sound offensive scorers.

[player_tooltip player_id='364120' first='Molly' last='Sisson'] (2026) | 6'3 Forward | Bay State Jags

Molly looked great on the UAA circuit. Her versatility as a natural power forward has been advantageous for the squad. The length combined with crafted post moves, patience and aggressiveness construct a potent prospect. There aren't many around that bring the type of value she does at the position. She's moved up the rankings a considerable amount in a year's time and her level of impact is incontestable. The defense has yet to be mentioned either. That earlier mentioned length comes in handy as she faces various styles of bigs. Sisson can play vertically and she also has great timing coming through with those powerful help-side swats. Molly has been a pleasure to observe blossom from a distance. She's certainly deserving of the attention received.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239179' first='Shea' last='Kalin'] (2027 | Wing | BCRI

Kalin had one of the most surprising performances and the underrated prospect has opened some eyes for sure. Her shooting capacity alone is enough to merit some recognition. In her first game, Shea had 20 pts and 8 reb, shooting 4 monumental 3-pointers. Shea was fearless, showing she could unleash from beyond the arc, disregarding the defenders attempts to contest the shot. Not only a long-range threat though, but Kalin also showed she could grab multiple boards in traffic as a perimeter player. Her knack for nabbing rebounds helped allow BCRI close out well defended possessions. After securing the board she quickly found outlets so they could get out in transition. This performance was certainly worthy of mentioning.

Not sure if the 2-way play of Davis has been mentioned enough yet, but here is another writeup raving about the '28 pg's impressive duel sided abilities. Lily will lock players up full court, using her length and baiting them into making mistakes as she heavily applies pressure on the ball. She's like a shark that smells blood in the water with sloppy ballhandlers. Even those that're usually considered good dribblers need to go to great lengths protecting the ball from Lily. On offense, Davis continued to show why she's one of the best downhill drivers in her class. She gets deep penetration in the lane, making light of any rim protector in the paint. Her natural ability in combination with athleticism comes together nicely Her performance this weekend definitely left an impression.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239203' first='Charleigh' last='Green'] (2028) | Forward | MCW Starz

Charleigh was a player that showed up in many ways for the MCW Starz this weekend. Not only can she finish the dump passes she receives as she floats along the baseline, but Green also does some unique things on the court that're hard to matchup with. She brings some point forward like abilities to the table plus sows the capacity to make plays for others too. Green isn't the traditional big, even if her size may be misleading. There's so much more to her game. If she snatched a rebound, she was liable to start the transition break herself. Her teammates trust her with the ball in her hands as she gets down the floor with great force. This really puts pressure on opposing team's bigs to contain something they may not be used to seeing. The value doesn't just stop there though; the '28 versatile forward provided an extra security blanket on the backline of the defense. She was nimble enough to get in and out of the lane to contest plenty of shots. Her overall performance assisting her team to a 5-0 result this weekend can't be glossed over.
