This past weekend marked the first of two stops for the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit to go through Indiana in 2025. The Crossroads Clash took place at the beautiful new 10-court Mishawaka Fieldhouse, just 5 minutes from the University of Notre Dame's campus. After seeing most of the teams in the 17U, 16U, and 15U divisions, below is a look at seven ladies from the 2028 class who stood out to me for one reason or another.

Jayla is an intriguing young forward who plays with some versatility. First, she has length, a wiry-strong frame, and she's a solid athlete in most directions. She has a nice motor and is willing to be physical around the paint, often looking to attack contact to attempt to finish or draw fouls. She also flashed a solid mid-post game and looked most comfortable there for now. She showed some comfort around the perimeter, and that part of her game should grow in time.

Ashley stepped in immediately this year and was big for a very good Bellmont team. She has a fairly strong frame for a young guard, nice length, and she understands how to score. She has nice touch from the perimeter, but she's also a solid North/South attacker who finished with both hands around the rim. As she continues to become more dynamic off the dribble, change directions in traffic, etc., she could be a real problem for opponents to match up with.

Hadley is another Bellmont youngster who flashes upside. She is long, wiry-strong, and she will get out and run the floor with effort. She is effective as a defender right now, protecting the paint with her length, and she tries to be physical on box-outs, she pursues rebounds as well, and that's where her current value is. As an offensive threat, with more reps and added strength, she will finish more consistently inside, plus she's athletic enough to be a nice mid-post scorer over time.

Toni is a nice athlete, she has length, wiry-strength, and she can get up and down the floor. She looks like she has maybe always been a taller kid in her class, so she is transitioning from more of a power position to the wing. She was effective attacking the basket North/South, especially right-handed, she had a solid mid-range game, and she was good at the defensive end of the floor, whether she was out guarding on the perimeter or boxing out and rebounding inside.

Rheanna played with an outstanding motor and energy in a couple of games I saw. She is fast in transition, she likes to get out and push the ball up the floor, always looking for the next play to make, but she'll eventually need to learn to tap on the brakes a little and change speeds depending on situations. Once she does that, she'll be much more difficult to defend. I also liked her effort defensively, as she uses her length and quickness well both on and off the ball.

Kendall is an intriguing young "big" who might not be done growing either. She is extremely long, wiry-strong, and she runs the floor North/South well. She does a really nice job of keeping the ball high and away from defenders, while using both hands to finish around the rim. Additionally, she can put it on the floor a couple of dribbles from the mid-post and get to the rim, plus she's an active rebounder and defender...she'll come out on the floor some and protect the paint.

Madelynn appears on our 2028 watch list, and after seeing her in-person for the first time, rightfully so. She is extremely long and wiry, fluidly athletic, and she plays with an inside-out versatility. In what I was able to see, she operated primarily between the mid-post and low block, but she looked comfortable in transition and the few times I saw her around the perimeter. She is all upside right now and just needs time to finish growing and becoming more consistent.
