Heart of Texas Showcase Young Hoopers 2028/2029: Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hear of Texas was the summer kick of many 2028 players that are looking to showcase their talents in front of coaches. Many are stepping into becoming more important roles for the school team for the upcoming season. Saturday while I was at the Fieldhouse I had opportunity to see many up and coming players who will impact their programs. Check out these 6 players in Part 1. Anyone looking for a 6'0 small forward that can play 1-5 positions, that is just what this young lady can do. Do some research on her and you will see is coming off a great freshman season. Always in the right spot on the backside ready for the pass or clean up a missed shot for the putback. Impressive is how laterally and long she plays the game. Shot the outside 3 at a verry high percentage while attacking the gaps getting to the rim for the finish. Good vision in the open floor looking opposite side for the other lane to be filled. Nice reads on the drives making good decisions with the layup, drop or kickout. Control the tempo on the press breaker with head up reading the rotation finding the open girl. Good instincts for rebounding on the defensive end. Quick push after every made bucket catching the opposing defense jogging back. On the point passes up the floor to the transition breakout person for easy baskets Jumper was smooth and on the catch with no wasted motion on the release. Understood not to put herself in bad situations on paint touches. Finished with a nice floater to avoid the block. If floater was not there got under control with a jump stop spin move for the finish. I can see the strength as she has a strong looking frame but impressive was her jumping ability on rebounds. Gets up and grabs the ball off the shelf with two hands securing the rebounding. If she could not secure the board, she kept it alive by getting at least a hand on it. Runs the floor like a small forward getting out and filling the lanes. Nice mid-range game on offense. She was a tough match up for the opposing team. Finley was a player that stood out with her ball handling changing directions with crossover moves and step backs. Attacked the rim couple times driving her defender back then hit them with a pull up or change of direction for the finish. On defense has the lateral abilities to defend a guard but is also an excellent shot blocker on the help rotation. I am a defensive minded person so when I see a guard that stays low and gives up no ground you got my attention. A guard that is going to fill up the stat sheet with steals, assists and points. A point guard that makes good decisions and will give you a high assist to turnover ratio. One of those players who sees the set up and burns the defense with a assist. Aggressive downhill driver that explodes through the gap getting to the rim. Showed a nice mid-range pull up on the drives as well.
