Anna Sudbeck
About Anna
Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sudbeck is a D1 prospect in Oklahoma’s Class of 2028 because she keeps it simple. Her contributions came in familiar ways. Spot up threes and hitting the glass. While also running the floor and being a gritty defender. Has a real nose to be in the right spot at right times. Good positioning to help contest or block shots at the rim. While also using her long arms to impact passing lanes. She’s also seemingly always running down long rebounds or battling in traffic for boards. One of the best examples of how starring in a role can lead to a huge impact.

Sudbeck was in double figures for all three games at the event, including 17 points vs Edmond North. She’s one of the top shooters in Oklahoma’s sophomores class. But her impact goes beyond her shooting. As she maximizes her height advantage by consistently rebounding, running the floor hard on both ends of the court and swatting shots/defelecting passes. Considering her combination of efficient shooting and all action playing style, what’s not to like about the youngster who has already been offered by ORU.

A classic “3 and D” player for the next level. This spring and summer, Sudbeck was one of the biggest risers among Oklahoma’s talented 2028 Class. It wasn’t just media that noticed, as Sudbeck’s ability to hit from deep earned her an offer from Oral Roberts. While she might not have the high school resume of some of the others on this list, keep an eye on the youngster as she should step up this winter for Owasso.

There were flashes during her freshman campaign, now Sudbeck looks ready to take 6A by storm as part of a sneaky good Owasso squad. Shooting will likely always be her calling card, but the all around impact she made this spring and summer is where the growth came in. She’s tall and plays to ever bit of her height with the ability to rebound like a forward. Racks up important hustle points via putbacks, steals and more. Sudbeck is already trending toward being a D1 player, the offer from Oral Roberts being an example. Now, how high can she soar?

After a recent quieter shooting weekend in Wichita, Sudbeck bounced back in Louisville. In this contest, she was part of an early barrage of three pointers for JYD. Along with hitting in the mid-range. Cooled off a bit as the game progressed. But stay involved in the game by playing to her size. Had a big block against a taller player. While also scoring around the rim with a putback and slipping a screen for an easy bucket. The mixture of size, toughness and shooting continues to be tough to ignore.

Fresh off an Oral Roberts offer, Sudbeck continues to impress. It’s a very simple but effective playbook for the rising sophomore. Knockdown threes like they’re layups. Crash the glass on both ends of the floor. And bring an air of toughness and tenacity on the defensive end, that would appear surprising because of her current skinny frame. It’s a winning recipe, and Sudbeck cooked up success. This time in playing a key role for independent squad against a pair of successful shoe circuit teams. At the rate of her recent development, ORU will have stiff competition for her services.

Shooting and size. Too things that college programs seem to always prioritize and the Owasso Lady Ram checks both those boxes. She has shot it a high clip from deep all spring and is establishing herself as one of the elite shooters in this class. And she’s more than just tall, she plays to her size on the defensive end. Always helping out on the glass, getting hands on passes for deflections and generally being bought in defense. Even is capable of staying with smaller guards. The still growing young wing, is trending toward being a 2/3, with impressive production to go along with good potential.

If you have not seen Anna play or know of her through previous articles you will next season. Anna makes this write up more as a 2028 Stock Riser than a get to know. After the Clash of the Clubs Anna stock rose as the 6’0 small forward showed out in front of coaches.
A versatile player on offense that has the skill set to play practically wherever needed on the floor for her team. On defense she has the length to defend the 20ft out being low and long making it hard to get around. Inside she has great timing on her jump to contest shots without fouling.

The 918 wing has shot the ball at a high clip this summer and it was no different in Norman. A catch and shoot specialist by trade, Sudbeck runs to her spots along the perimeter in transition. And always makes herself available in the halfcourt. Then she lets it fly quickly and accurately with a repeatable motion. Along with the shooting capabilities, her height, plus wingspan and motor leads to rebounding and defensive impact. With traits that translate well to the next level, Sudbeck should continue to rise.
