The 2025 Cagers Invitational was a great experience again this year. 26 different travel clubs attended with college coaches from D2, NAIA, D3, and JUCO programs recruiting both days. There was comprehensive live media coverage both days by LBI and PGH at the tournament, with 20 hours of in-court coverage by PGH this weekend! The attending teams truly received the best possible tournament coverage at the event–every 2029-2026 team was evaluated and watched this weekend. Nearly 60 prospects will be included in my post-tournament write-ups this week, with nearly half being written about for the very first time. That's what Prep Girls Hoops Michigan is all about–discovering new prospects from every club in the state who have the potential to play college basketball at any level. The Cagers Invitational is the perfect exposure tournament for most teams in the state. The organization, staff, format, and competition are terrific. I will continue to support it annually, and I hope to see independent travel clubs take advantage of this great event in 2026! Coming to this tournament gives your players a great chance to put their best abilities on display in front of college scouts, coaches, and trusted media sources. Why Should My Club Attend?

Nylah provided end-of-game heroics for [program_tooltip program_id='712670' first='Michigan' last='Storm Elite GUAA'] 2029 as she caught an inbounds pass and powered through contact to score a buzzer beater and-one layup off the glass. Nylah faced off with Michigan's top 2028 forward prospect and held her own. She worked hard to secure multiple offensive rebounds and score putbacks, including a strong and-one finish plus the free throw. Nyla deflected a pass and hit the deck to secure the steal. Nylah's height, athleticism, work ethic, and hustle make her a special prospect. Her ceiling will keep expanding as her fundamentals develop in the coming years.

Vaz caught my attention with her hard work, defense, and toughness for [program_tooltip program_id='713300' first='Macon' last='6 Basketball Academy'] 2028 at the Cagers Invitational. She secured rebounds with strong hands and tenacity, while knocking down a free throw with confidence at the line. Vaz has length and strength that will make her an excellent addition at the high school level.

Malena had length and athleticism that grabbed my attention immediately at the Cagers Invitational. Malena was a force on the offensive glass for [program_tooltip program_id='715424' first='The' last='Naturals'] 2029. She scored multiple put-backs including an and-one through contact, plus the free throw. Malena chased down rebounds, scored another layup off two feet, and showed her athletic ability by jumping high off the floor to snag a pass, then caused a foul to earn free throws. She's going to be a prospect to keep an eye on at Jackson Northwest next year.

Elliot was an exciting player to watch for [program_tooltip program_id='715424' first='The' last='Naturals'] 2029 at the Cagers Invitational. She caught a pass then made a quick transfer to score a layup high off the glass. Elliot used good pivots in the paint to cause fouls including an impressive and-one finish off two feet--she buried the free throw. Elliot swished a baseline layup off two feet and pushed the ball with both hands to outrace defenders for a layup. She had an outstanding tournament and I can't wait to see her play again at the high school level.

Abby was a rebounding force inside. She outworked defenders to secure the ball and then finished the play with a strong put-back in the paint. Abby has the range to score from the perimeter and she drained a straightaway triple up top.

Whitney was a forward who left a great impression because of her determination and scrappy presence on the court for Mid-Michigan Excel at the Cagers Invitational. She scored a strong layup off two feet in the paint and banked in a mid-range jumper. Whitney was aggressive on the defensive end and caused a jump ball by clamping down on an entry pass into the high post. She will be a solid addition to Fulton's program next year.

Nicqo is a prospect from Michigan Storm Elite 2029 who showed great potential at the Cagers Invitational. She used her length to impact the games as a shot blocker, closing out with high hands to disrupt shots on the perimeter and in the paint. Nicqo scored off two feet and fiercely ripped the ball away to secure a rebound. She dove on the floor to secure a loose ball and worked hard to defend the low post. Nicqo will be an unstoppable force at the high school level as she continues to develop her fundamentals. Her height and athleticism will make an instant impact as a freshman. I expect Nicqo to grow into one of the top front-court prospects in this class as her high school career is just around the corner.
