Heart of Texas Showcase: Who stood out for the Arkansas Warriors?

The Arkansas Warriors recently competed in the Heart of Texas Showcase, playing in the Gold division. The Warriors went 4-0 while facing other elite AAU programs. I will look at each player on this roster and break down the top performances from the Warriors during this tournament.    After a strong sophomore season with the Lady Daredevils, [player_tooltip player_id='1093349' first='Shaelyn' last='Dockery'] has played well on the AAU circuit.    During the Heart of Texas Showcase, Dockery shot 37% from the 3-point line while averaging around 10 points per contest. In the Warriors' first meeting against the Texas Elite East Texas Spurs, the Wonderview star was close to a double-double, posting 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. In their next game against the Houston Aces, Dockery finally logged that double-double, coming away with 11 points and 10 rebounds.   Her play on the offensive end was consistent throughout the tournament, but her play on the defensive end was phenomenal. She put up 10 points and logged 3 steals against the Oklahoma Legacy, hitting open shots and playing the passing lanes well throughout the game.    [player_tooltip player_id='1093349' first='Shaelyn' last='Dockery'] played well on both ends of the floor for the Arkansas Warriors, and her consistent play should carry over to the rest of the summer.     Throughout the Heart of Texas Showcase and the Border Wars, [player_tooltip player_id='1244359' first='Peyton' last='Stovall'] performed well for the Arkansas Warriors.    Stovall displayed strength and toughness throughout both of these tournaments. She averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds per game during the Heart of Texas Showcase and impressed with her offensive post play and high IQ.   Though Stovall is at her best when maneuvering her way into the post and using her strength to move defenders out of the way, she has begun to improve as a mid-range shooter.    [player_tooltip player_id='1244359' first='Peyton' last='Stovall'] will be a key player for the Warriors throughout their remaining summer schedule, but she has some solid momentum to take with her into the 2025-26 season with Wonderview.     [player_tooltip player_id='871868' first='Kim' last='Henry'] has been a star for Vilonia for some time now. This summer with the Warriors, she has done the same thing, showing off in multiple areas of the game.   Her best performance of the Heart of Texas Showcase was against the Texas Elite East Texas Spurs, where she recorded 22 points and 3 blocks. Henry is not known as an outside shooter, but she surprised the defense by knocking down several triples, displaying the improvements she has made in that area of the game.    Henry was making herself an easy target for her teammates to pass to in the post. She was gaining positioning against the defense easily in the post and then using a soft touch to finish through contact. The incoming junior was also hitting short jumpers from upwards of 10 feet out with consistency.   In addition to that performance against the Spurs, [player_tooltip player_id='871868' first='Kim' last='Henry'] had solid outings against the Houston Aces, putting up 14 points and 3 blocks, and against ABC Showcase, logging 11 points and 6 boards. Her play on the offensive end, on defense, and the glass has been outstanding, so this is a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the summer.     The Conway Christian star has been very impressive for the Warriors on the defensive end, shutting down the opposition along the perimeter.   Stone's best defensive performance was against the Spurs, where she stole the ball from the opposition 6 times, along with scoring 9 points. She has great instincts on the defensive end, which have already attracted some college attention. Stone can see the future with the way that she interrupts the passing lanes, seemingly knowing just where the ball is going at all times.   The 2027 guard is also a fantastic facilitator. She had 12 points and 8 assists against the Oklahoma Legacy, which was not long after posting 8 points and 4 assists versus the Houston Aces. The Conway Christian star knows how and when to make the next pass while also being able to hit open shots from the perimeter.   [player_tooltip player_id='1093342' first='Chezney' last='Stone'] could be a breakout candidate for next season, but her great two-way play will be something for opposing teams to watch out for during the remainder of the AAU slate.     The Nabholz family has produced several phenomenal basketball players, with [player_tooltip player_id='1093346' first='Anna' last='Nabholz'] being the latest sister to grace the court for Conway St. Joseph's.    Nabholz was an all-conference and all-state performer as a sophomore, and she is taking that momentum into the summer with the Arkansas Warriors. During the regular season with Conway St. Joseph's, Nabholz had multiple strong performances against league opponents. She had 17 points and 10 rebounds to open district play and 19 points against a conference foe not long before that.   The 2027 forward is a solid athlete who uses her length and vertical to score with ease on the interior. She rebounds the ball well, asserting herself as a double-double threat every time she is on the floor.   [player_tooltip player_id='1093346' first='Anna' last='Nabholz'] adds length to this Arkansas Warrior team. She is going to have plenty more opportunities to contribute this summer, but she is also going to be a player to watch out for during the upcoming season.     Farmington graduated a lot of their star power from this past championship squad. If they want to win a state championship for the fourth year in a row, they need to find new players who can come in and contribute. Based on her play so far with the Arkansas Warriors, I believe a valuable contributor next year can be [player_tooltip player_id='1093246' first='Anneke' last='McGhee'].   McGhee has been consistent on the offensive end, posting 13 points against the Houston Aces and 11 points versus the Oklahoma Legacy. In the game against the Legacy, she was more than just a scorer, coming up with 5 steals in the victory. Against the Aces, the guard crashed the glass effectively, pulling down 4 rebounds.    McGhee impressed a lot of people with her 3-point shooting ability, where she was knocking down those outside shots at a 38% clip. Though she averaged around 8 points per game in the Heart of Texas Showcase, she can heat up quickly. Thanks to her length and her laser from beyond the arc, she put up 18 points in game 2 of the Border War.   [player_tooltip player_id='1093246' first='Anneke' last='McGhee'] has been impressive this summer, and I know she can carve a role for herself on that Lady Cardinal team in 2025-26.     [player_tooltip player_id='1093351' first='Josey' last='Dollar'] showed that she is one of the best players in the 2027 class during her high school sophomore campaign. She continues to prove that on the AAU circuit.   Dollar had 11 points against the ABC Showcase and 7 points and 3 steals versus the Houston Aces. She showed no hesitation when shooting from beyond the arc, even hitting a walkdown 3-pointer on the fastbreak to stretch the defense out further. During the Border War, Dollar averaged double-digit points, which is no surprise.   After seeing what [player_tooltip player_id='1093351' first='Josey' last='Dollar'] could do with Acorn High School this past season, I am not shocked to see her thrive with the Warriors. The coach of the Arkansas Warriors, Ronnie Grice, has commented on how she is "coachable" and willing to do whatever it takes for her team to win. Keep an eye on this 2A star.     [player_tooltip player_id='1244389' first='Brylee' last='Brewer'] is the youngest player on this team, coming into the summer after finishing her freshman season with the Vilonia Lady Eagles. Though she did not find much time with Vilonia's varsity squad, she led the 9th-grade team to an undefeated record and a conference championship. She is now providing key minutes to the Arkansas Warriors.   Warriors' coach Ronnie Grice has recognized Brewer's contributions to the team, being a key part of their 4-0 run at the Heart of Texas Showcase. This incoming sophomore can play both guard positions, adding solid length along the perimeter, which can be a valuable asset for her team on either side of the ball.    We have not seen enough of [player_tooltip player_id='1244389' first='Brylee' last='Brewer'] so far, but with Vilonia graduating several seniors, I would think that this guard could find a role on this team in 2025-26.    There are some great players in this group, make sure to keep an eye on them as they hope to continue their masterful play this summer.
