One of the standout aspects of the Michigan State Tournament was the opportunity it gave every team and age group to be equally seen and evaluated. With all games played under one roof and each team guaranteed at least four matchups (many playing five), the setup allowed our Prep Girls Hoops Michigan scouting staff to provide comprehensive coverage throughout the weekend. The presence of college coaches and Midwest Recruiting Resource added to the excitement and elevated the exposure for the athletes.

The championship bracket format gave each age group a shot at taking home the ultimate prize—Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament Champion. Watching teams celebrate with their oversized championship trophies and proudly sporting their winner's t-shirts served as a great reminder of what PGH events are all about: competition, recognition, and creating lasting memories for players and programs alike.

MBA went 4-0 on the weekend!

Briana, a standout guard for MBA, was named 1st Team All-Tournament and earned 15U Tournament MVP honors at the PGH Michigan State Tournament after an outstanding weekend. Leading her squad to a perfect 4-0 record, she saved her biggest performance for the championship game, where she caught fire from deep and drained four shots from beyond the arc. Briana's impact wasn't limited to scoring—she played tough defense, chased down long offensive boards, and even came up with a key block that led to a transition bucket. Her smooth hesitation dribble routinely froze defenders, allowing her to attack the lane and finish with ease.

Brynnly, a dynamic guard for MBA, played a key role in her team's undefeated 4-0 run at the PGH Michigan State Tournament and was rightfully named to the 1st Team All-Tournament. She consistently pushed the pace, using her strong ball-handling and a smooth hesitation move to create space and blow by defenders. Brynnly also showed off her shooting range, connecting on multiple shots from deep and providing a steady offensive spark throughout the weekend. The explosive guard used a quick, low crossover to beat defenders off the dribble and was relentless in transition, racking up points on the break. Her athleticism stood out as she crashed the offensive glass for second-chance buckets and turned defense into offense with deflections, steals, and coast-to-coast finishes. Brooklyn also hit shots from beyond the arc, making her a consistent and versatile scoring threat all weekend.

Andi was a standout performer for [program_tooltip program_id='713446' first='Hardwood' last='Midwest'], helping lead her squad to a runner-up finish at the PGH Michigan State Tournament and earning a well-deserved spot on the 1st Team All-Tournament. The sharp-shooting guard consistently knocked down shots from deep, spacing the floor and forcing defenses to extend. Calm and composed with the ball in her hands, Andi made smart decisions and controlled the tempo as a poised floor leader. A strong and physical forward, she consistently battled for position in the paint and did an excellent job sealing defenders on baseline out-of-bounds plays. Her aggressive mindset led to frequent trips to the free throw line, and she capitalized with offensive rebounds and tough putbacks. Alexandria also stretched the floor with her ability to knock down shots from mid-range, showing she can impact the game both inside and out. She was a disruptive force on defense, racking up multiple steals with her active hands and quick reactions. Jayda also showed off her range, knocking down a smooth step-back three that highlighted her offensive skill set. The skilled guard made her presence felt on both ends of the floor—showing quick hands defensively, handling pressure with confidence, and finishing with finesse, including a crafty inside-hand layup. She had a key steal that led to a perfectly placed pass for an easy transition bucket, and she consistently crashed the boards for second-chance points. She delivered timely passes to set up teammates and brought intensity on defense, racking up multiple steals with her active hands and smart positioning.

One of the standout aspects of the Michigan State Tournament was the opportunity it gave every team and age group to be equally seen and evaluated. The presence of college coaches and Midwest Recruiting Resource added to the excitement and elevated the exposure for the athletes.
