The Smoke, a high-level basketball tournament, was played this past weekend at Grand Valley and brought out some of the top talent from around the region. Saturday stood out in particular for the exceptional point guard play on display. From start to finish, floor generals took command with sharp decision-making, tight handles, and impressive court vision. Whether it was breaking down defenders, making the right read in transition, or setting the tone with their pace and poise, the point guards elevated the level of play across the board. Their performances made it clear that The Smoke was a spotlight stage for some of the region's most skilled and savvy playmakers.    Heavenly had a breakout Saturday at The Smoke, showing why she's a force at point guard. She came up huge with a momentum-shifting block on defense, then immediately turned up the pace, leading the break with confidence. Her ball control was smooth, her decision-making sharp, and she delivered pinpoint passes that set her teammates up beautifully. Heavenly played with poise and purpose, making an impact on both ends of the floor.     Baylee had a strong showing on Saturday at The Smoke, running the point for [program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House'] with confidence and control. She sliced through the press with ease, using her quickness and court awareness to keep the offense moving. Baylee attacked the rim with power and purpose, finishing tough drives and showing off a smooth in-and-out Euro step that left defenders behind. On the other end, she showed her bounce with a few impressive blocks, proving she's just as impactful on defense.     Reagan had a solid outing on Saturday at The Smoke, running the point for the Mystics with poise and energy. She handled defensive pressure with composure, using her tight handle to navigate the court and create opportunities. A true playmaker, Reagan delivered sharp passes and set the tempo for her team. Even without the ball, she sprinted the floor and stayed active, making hustle plays on both ends. Her defensive presence stood out, racking up multiple steals and blocks with her quick instincts and effort.     Lily, the steady floor leader for Michigan Factory, had a strong showing on Saturday at The Smoke and played a key role in helping her team win the tournament. She operated with calm and control, making smart decisions that kept her squad organized and efficient on offense. Her passing was crisp and intentional, consistently setting up teammates with quality scoring chances. On defense, Lily's awareness and anticipation allowed her to disrupt plays and create opportunities. Even when she wasn't leading the break, she sprinted the floor with purpose, putting herself in position to contribute in transition and stay involved on both ends.     Ashlyn, a dynamic point guard for Macon 6, had an impressive Saturday at The Smoke. She showcased her crafty ball-handling, navigating defenders with ease and attacking the basket with strength and confidence. Ashlyn finished through contact multiple times, converting key and-ones to spark her team. Despite her position, she crashed the boards with intensity, grabbing several offensive rebounds and giving her team valuable second-chance opportunities. Her energy and toughness were on full display from start to finish.
