Battle of the Border: Wildcat Shootout Top Performers Pt. 1

The Wildcat Shootout took place over 3 days at Camden County High School, in Kingsland, GA. I had the opportunity to see talent from across the state of Georgia and Florida. Most of the match ups consisted of Georgia vs Florida which led to bragging rights for most teams. Players from both states bought the energy from start to finish. Here are some of the players who stood out to me over the 3 days.    Day is a playmaker in all aspects of the game. Her length and smooth handles allow her to attack the basket and score at will. A player not afraid to let it fly from deep but also cuff it and get downhill. She creates match up nightmares with her ability to score at all 3 levels. Day showed why she is one of the top 2028s in the state of Florida.     [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last='']'s stock continues to rise each time she touches the floor. A player that has grown her game at all levels. She is not afraid to attack the gaps and score through contact. Her ability to shoot the ball consistently keeps a lot of defenders guessing where she will score next. High IQ guard that turned some heads at the Wildcat Shootout.     Reeder is the engine for her team. A player that can get downhill and shoot the 3 ball consistently. She also made plenty of highlight reel defensive plays at the Wildcat Shootout. Here handles allow her the opportunity to score from anywhere on the floor. Floor General that can find the gaps and thread the needle with her pinpoint passes. Look for her stock to rise after the July Live Period.     Bush has the size and intangibles to be one of the top players in the state. She showed her ability to score inside and out. A player that can lure you to sleep and just turn it on and get to the rim. High Motor and High IQ guard that can facilitate and score at will.     Sanchez is a pure scorer. She rattled off 27 points in one game and can score at any given time. What stood out most was her ability to not be guarded. She also showed her range from the volleyball line when shooting the 3 ball. Sanchez can flat out score and has fun doing it. Her ball handling skills keep the crowd in awe with her ability to hit tough shots.     Marino is the definition of a shooter. Her range and quick release make it tough to guard her. A player that can shoot if off the screen or off the dribble. When opponents push her off the line, she showed her ability to shoot the mid-range jump shot and distribute to her teammates. Next level shooting guard that can score as soon as she touches the floor.
