This is take number 2 on PGHD's Upgraded and Improved series.

It is summer in the Dakotas and PHD is looking back at the spring to talk about improved ballers.

As a basketball fan, rube, and enthusiast, I always want to know who has improved their game. That is what we are looking at today! We have ballers who improved during the spring club season and players that we should keep an eye on this summer.

PGHD wanted to give shout-outs to players who improved, worked hard, and put in the time to better themselves.

[player_tooltip player_id='658986' first='Anna' last='Binde'] (2026) |5'7 G| Tea/SSA SD 17U White

Binde had an impressive spring of basketball. She has significantly elevated her game, showcasing remarkable improvements in her court awareness, shooting, dribbling, and defensive skills. With her hard work and dedication to the game, Anna is becoming a player to watch. Keep an eye on her as she continues to make improvements this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161475' first='Aubree' last='Jeanotte'] (2026) |5'6 G| Turtle Mountain/SSA ND 17U Black

She is a smaller/quick PG who is aggressive on the offensive end. Aubree has improved tremendously in her patience and decision making in regard to time and score in games. Her ability to be aggressive when need be is helpful and she is beginning to slow things down when needed. Jeanotte is also crashing the glass super aggressively to get o-boards for the team, not allowing her size to create an excuse for not doing this important task. Defensively, Jeanotte continues to keep her player in front of her with her quick twitch and continues to work on not fouling at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='641206' first='Callen' last='Fosher'] (2026) |6'0 F| West Fargo Sheyenne/SSA SD 17U White

Fosher has taken on the challenge of playing the forward/post position for SSA 17U White, and she is rising to the occasion! Standing at 6'0", this forward/post player is making significant strides in her game, particularly on the low block, where she is becoming a dominant force! With her determination and hard work, Callen is showing that she has the potential to be a high quality player.

Cierra Carlson (2027) |5'9 G| Park Christian/SSA ND 16U Black

From the start of the spring to now, Carlson is a much stronger player and more physical. Her aggressiveness has also been upgraded. Cierra has done good work as a slasher and is often at the rim. She has good instincts on the glass and often wins the 50/50 ball. Carlson's shooting range has also improved.

[player_tooltip player_id='929574' first='Hayden' last='Weber'] (2028) |5'7 G| O'Gorman/SSA SD 15U Black

Weber has been playing really well lately. She is long and athletic. Hayden does a great job of anticipating passes and gets a lot of steals and deflections. She is playing much more physically on both offense and defense. Weber is able to absorb contact and finish at the rim. She also has a good jumper to go along with her ability to attack. Hayden scores at all 3 levels, which makes her dangerous. She has also started to rebound the ball better and use her length to tip out rebounds to teammates. Weber is the real deal.

[player_tooltip player_id='929575' first='Jersi' last='Schultz'] (2028) |6'0 F| Dell Rapids/TEAM Warwick 15U

Schultz has started to find a groove! Defensively, she has become more confident defending players who are larger and more physical than her. Offensively, she is finding opportunities in transition and scoring with offensive putbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1105980' first='Jordyn' last='Carpenter'] (2026) |5'8 G| MPCG/SSA ND 17U Black

She helps run the PG spot, Carpenter is playing up an age division. Jordyn is a 2027 who exhibits true PG tendencies. Her biggest improvement thus far is settling the team into the O and communicating the offense. Carpenter also has improved tremendously on moving her feet defensively and contesting shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1093196' first='Katie' last='Betsworth'] (2028) |5'8 G| Dakota Valley/TEAM Warwick 15U

Katie showed some nice improvement this spring. As she started to get more comfortable, she found time and space to set her feet and make some open threes. Betsworth also plays very aggressively and rebounds well for her size. TEAM Warwick expects to see her continue to grow as they get into the summer events.

[player_tooltip player_id='1104817' first='Lacie' last='Fautsch'] (2027) |6'0 C| Benson County/SSA ND 16U White

Fautsch had a standout spring season. Lacie improved her efficiency around the basket and finishes nicely with both hands. She does a good job of scoring in traffic. Fautsch runs the floor well and proven that she can produce in transition. Lacie has also upgraded her defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='935884' first='London' last='Backes'] (2028) |5'7 G| O'Gorman/SSA SD 15U Black

Backes has grown her game since the start of the spring season. She is a really good 3-point shooter, but has really started attacking the rim well. London can finish at the rim and also has a nice, quick pull-up jumper. She passes really well in both the half-court and in getting the ball up the court in transition. Backes also sees the court well and has a high basketball IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='933462' first='Olivia' last='Siverson'] (2028) |5'11 SF| Central Cass/SSA ND 17U Black

She just played her first tournament with the team due to track. From the start of the season (practices), to now, Liv has drastically improved. Siverson is lanky, athletic, and super aggressive. Her ability to get downhill off the bounce and get to the free throw line has helped the team a ton. Expect Liv to settle into her game the more tournaments she plays. Siverson is also able to keep anyone in front of her defensively because of her impressive length.

Taya Christie (2028) |5'11 F| West Lyon/TEAM Warwick 15U

Christie has become more comfortable with her teammates and her game is beginning to blossom. She improved as an offensive and defensive rebounder in the spring events. Taya has added physical play to her game, which complements her perimeter skill set.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258995' first='Taylor' last='Rypkema'] (2028) |5'10 G/SF| Central Lyon/TEAM Warwick 15U

Taylor has shown some flashes of brilliance this spring. She is very long/lanky and an athletic playmaker. Rypkema can get out and run the wing in transition and finishes well with her long frame. Taylor's future looks bright.
