The Scholastic Live Period tips off on Thursday, and for the second year in a row, more teams are participating than the previous year. Over the next few days, I'd like to highlight a few names to watch for coaches at every level before Summer Slam tips off. I thoroughly enjoyed the event last year, as coaches from every level attended, and I expect it to be just as good, if not better than it was in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='766630' first='Ava' last='Koch']

The Omro native is an intriguing kid for regional programs. Koch has been a productive player for the Foxes the past few seasons and has been comfortable as the focal point of what her team has done on the offensive end. Koch can get to her spots with ease and has proven she can score at all three levels. The Omro guard could help a team compete at the next level. Once regional programs see her, they'll love her.

Addy Schmudlach

The Monona Grove guard was a reliable option for a Silver Eagle team that had to find a new identity with a new coach and an almost entirely new rotation. Schmudlach had a breakout game against Neenah, where she scored 29 points at Just a Game Fieldhouse in the Dells and led her Silver Eagle team to a win. She's a relatively new name in the 2027 class, but she's worth watching for schools in the region.

[player_tooltip player_id='932119' first='Mya' last='Mayer']

The Kettle Moraine Lutheran post didn't see the varsity floor much, if at all, last season. However, Mayer impressed me at the Freshman Showcase in the fall, and I'm eager to see her again in Appleton. Her physicality is something the Chargers could use and would be something they haven't had in the frontcourt, at least since I've been around. She likely played JV this past season, but she could be a surprise for the Chargers later this week and next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='533079' first='Brooklyn' last='Love']

Love is a quick guard who can create separation with the ball in her hands. She's an offensive-minded kid who can break games open in different ways. The Dominican rising senior has always had a knack for putting the ball in the basket, and her speed allows her to create while having a numerical advantage while attacking the basket. She may not be the most prominent name still on the board in 2026, but she is one of the most dynamic. She'll have a solid college career wherever she lands.
