The UNF Lady Ospreys held their annual team camp this past weekend for high school girls basketball. There were some impressive teams in the building, but no one would argue that the most talented roster in the building was Somerset Canyons. In this article we look at Somerset Canyons and breakdown what makes them so special. Furthermore, we get a clear understanding of why many feel they will be the team to beat in Class 3A - a highly competitive class. The team features some of the top talent in the State and when it's all said and done there could be multiple D-1 prospects on this roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='248355' first='Alana' last='Pinnock'] is PGH's top ranked prospect in the 2028 class. Her performance at the UNF Camp and the recent FABC camp soared over most of the prospects in the building. Pinnock's game looks so mature and elite and it's mind boggling that she is only going into her Sophomore season. She can pull the three point over the outstretched arms of smaller guards and get into the middle of the paint and eat up teams with a killer mid-range game. Pinnock has the handles, the defense, the scoring, etc. The most impressive part of her game is that she does it all in the context of team ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='216442' first='Tatyana' last='Campise-Pinkney'] is one of the the toughest shooting guards in the 2026 class. She is coming off of a standout FABC performance and subsequent college offers. She can shoot the three at a consistent level, whether off of the catch or a creative step back off the dribble. The "wings were up" and the three ball was flying. Tatyana Campise- Pinkney was one of the best shooter in the building.

That ability to shoot on the move and with a quick release is super impressive. She also shoots that three ball in transition and is highly consistent.

[player_tooltip player_id='515094' first='Dylande' last='Innocent'] - brought the energy at the UNF team camp. She stands out as a versatile forward who runs fhe floor, can score in transition, and gives her team multiple position with the way she crashes the offensive glass. If there was a loose ball or battle for the ball, Innocent was likely iin the mix. On defense, she is versatile enough to guards forwards and guards and therefore can disrupt the screens and pick and rolls by ht opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='742503' first='Alanna' last='Fabrini'] is another "Alanna" on the squad who can turn out the lights on an opponent. Fabrini can shoot the three with a lot of consistency and is a sniper on the court. Her three point shooting sets her a part from a lot of prospects in the 2027 class. She missed some games last season, but is back with a vengeance. A full season next season could see and assault on the three ball between she and her teammates. And she will be instrumental in making that repeat run to Lakeland.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232629' first='Abigail' last='Philistin'] is another talented player on the roster. I didn't see her play at the UNF camp, but she was a beast at the FABC Showcase. She is another energy player on this talented roster who doesn't back down from competition. She rebounds well and has guard-like handles. She can lead the break and initiate the offense. This allows her talented teammates to get to their spots and not worry about getting the ball into the hands of a guard to make a play.
