Here are five pure shooters from the field on the hardwood. Each one of these players below has proven overtime that they possess a superb ability to light it up from deep in a number of ways.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower'] put up a performance at EYBL Nike Nationals that is going to change her entire landscape in the recruiting world. For people who are located in Iowa, we knew Lower was possible of these type of performances but to the outsiders, I'm sure this weekend surprised many with how well Lower shot the ball. She ended Nike Nationals as the second-leading scorer in the 17U division. In multiple contests she started 3-3, 4-4, and 5-5 from three point land while being face guarded and even doubled at times by the opposition. The truth is Lower put in her name in the conversation for best shooter in the Country for the 2026 Class this past weekend. With whatever system she fits into in the future, if she can play her true position, she will produce and thrive.

Maci Pittenger is a D1 shooter. She is the type you can have set a screen, then she needs to receive 4 in return. AKA The Kyle Korver Treatment. If Pittenger gets space off the catch from deep, it's going up and it's going to usually go into the basket. When you pair that along with her physicality, body control in the paint, and ability to adapt in a short amount of time - you start to understand the promise and skill here. I'm expecting Pittenger to be a big producer this Winter for her Senior season at LC. If they play their cards right, they should win a lot of games and Pittenger should look like a star in the grand scheme of things.

Everyone is sleeping on [player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell']. Throwing that out there now so it's known. Frazell is a 5'11 CG/SF, who can shoot the leather off of the basketball from every distance. You watch Frazell shoot for three minutes and you know it's special. Her form is pure, effortless, and the same every single time. No matter what happens leading up to it. She is also big and athletic enough that she can switch defensively onto a few different positions to get a stop. Coaches love this type of play because it fits into several different types of offensive systems. I'm not sure who is going to sneak in late and scoop Frazell but she is a college player, who is going to be able to do some things at the next level with her ability. That is for sure.

Aubrey Carder ended her AAU season due to an ACL injury that is likely to keep her out for her entire Sophomore season as well at Millard South as well. This is a small set back for a big comeback. Carder is a prospect that has proven a lot over the past 8-10 months. She has proven that she loves to compete, that she is more skilled than most at her grade level, and that she is going to have a chance to see the college floor one day with how much promise she possesses. She has this uncanny ability to make shots, while standing out defensively because of her natural instincts. She understands how to read opponents tendencies and that helps her thrive. Carder is going to come back stronger than ever next Spring. If she takes her time and comes back fully healed, who knows what her future could hold on the hardwood.

If you are a collegiate program looking for a shooter that keeps it simple, makes shots off the catch and dribble at a consistent rate, all while being a great teammate - look no further than Rowan Swartz of Elkhorn South High School and Nebraska Supreme AAU. Swartz isn't someone that kills her opponents doing anything crazy. Instead she uses her jabs at a high rate and keeps things in control. It's important to note that she might be listed as a SG but she doesn't take ill advised shot attempts. She takes what is open, when she is feeling it and that's respectable. I'm excited to see what Swartz can do this next 6-8 months. If she continues to show out, she is going to raise some interest from the next level moving into next Spring at the very least.
