Coaches Box: Summer Best Shooters

I had the opportunity to coach and evaluate some of the best players in the country during the travel season. The players below demonstrated what it means to be a pure shooter and showed their ability to shoot the 3 ball and mid-range shot consistently. These athletes left the fans cheering as they knocked down shot after shot. Here are the players who stood out as some of the best shooters of the summer.    Marino is a special talent that can do it all. Her ability to catch and shoot is what keeps the defense guessing. A player that can consistently shoot the 3 ball and can do it off the dribble and ball screen. One of the hardest working players on the floor who recently committed to Embry Riddle. Her ability to work hard on both of ends of the floor is her biggest asset.     Martin [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] is a playmaker that can score from anywhere on the court. [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] faced numerous face guards during the live period and most teams couldn't keep the ball out of her hands. A player that can flat outshoot and score. She makes you pay when you push her off the 3-point arc and is always working harder than anyone on the floor. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] to continue her success during her final high school season.     Moody is a magician with the ball in her hands. When you think you have her stopped, she finds a way to score with off balance shots. Her range alone starts when she steps on the floor and a player that can't be stopped when the ball is in her hands. The ability to create space with the step back is how she gets her shot off. Moody knows how to change the game with her ability to shoot the ball when she crosses half court. Knock down shooter.     Summer is a gamechanger with her long length and ability to score at all 3 levels. A player that once she hits her first shot it's hard to cool her down. Summer has the length and ability to shoot over most defenders which makes it tough to guard her. Not afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. Showed her ability to consistently hit the 3 ball during the live period. Look for Summer to have a breakout sophomore campaign.     Watts is a sniper from deep. She doesn't need much space to light it up from behind the arc. She showed her ability to scorch the nets during the July Live Periods and kept her Essence team in plenty of games due to her ability to knock it down from deep. A player that can score at will and take over on the offensive end. She seems to heat up as the game goes on.     Parrish is a player that got better as the summer went along. She had one of her best shooting games during the July Live Period. A player whose 6'0 frame allows her to get shots off over her defenders. Knows how to catch and shoot and also pull up off the dribble. She even added a consistent high post mid-range jump shot which left the defense guessing what to do when she is not behind the arc.
