Today should be the final day highlighting intriguing players to follow from this AAU season. We'll have the 2028 class rankings update here in a few days, but before then, I wanted to highlight a few more players I enjoyed watching over the spring and summer before we shifted our focus to the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1224753' first='Dylan' last='Romero']

The Brookfield native is a player who can excel in almost any role. Romero is an athletic kid who can be a physical player around the basket. She has guard skills, played in her high school team's frontcourt, and caused problems for the opposing frontline. Romero is a player who can help a program at the next level by being herself and will exploit mismatches at any program she plays at, if she wants to play at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='747942' first='Josie' last='Piurkowski']

The Brookfield native is among the most explosive offensive players in the 2027 class. At any time, Piurkowski is capable of taking over a game on the offensive end of the floor and can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. She has developed on the defensive end as she's matured physically and become a more disciplined player on that end of the floor. Piurkowski has been a player who's shown she can do a little of everything on the offensive end of the floor, and could continue developing on the defensive end as she moves onto the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='914983' first='Beanie' last='Thompson']

The way Thompson can affect a game on both ends of the floor is somehow both significant and subtle. She isn't flashy and doesn't try to do anything that takes her out of her element. However, whenever she gets the ball in her hands, it feels like she can do whatever she wants. No matter where she plays, it feels like success follows, and she's a prominent reason for it. Even when her high school team's best and most recruited player was out against a talented Laconia team, and Thompson had missed maybe six weeks, Thompson controlled that game from start to finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228818' first='Rianna' last='Dye']

The Platteville post is a fundamentally sound player who doesn't mind being physical around the basket. Dye is a player whom I would suggest D2 programs and NAIA programs should watch if they have time this high school season. You won't find any post players with her physical and mental tools, and she's flying under the radar by playing at a non-name-brand AAU program or a traditional power around a large city in high school. She's a productive player.
