I-35 Summer Showcase in the Wichita and Andover area was loaded with some very talented ball players this weekend. Event was well ran as always and on time. These 8 players caught my eye and I believe all 8 will have the chance to use basketball to help pay of education. I have thrown in 3 out of state players that my readers can get to know. Including one Top 20 from Arkansas

First time seeing Rylee a 2026 guard from Missouri play. The things that caught my attention was the patience she has when setting up the defender for the drive. At times she uses a double crossover over getting the defender sitting back in their stance to then change her speed for the attack to the rim. Showed a very nice mid-range pullup jumper on the drive that was very smooth and had great lift. Impressive was the spin move on the player waiting for the change then jumped off both feet to get the shot over the help defense. Finished with a tough right hand floating jumper going right to left avoiding the block.

Tough physical defender that gets in your space not allowing you to put the ball on the floor. At times making it tough for the ball handler to gain any advantage on the dribble. As mentioned first time seeing Rylee play and one that I will be following her recruiting process

Mea is a SG (scoring guard) because she can put up points in so many different ways. A outside shooter that you must respect as she can roll off a couple in a roll changing the momentum of the game. The mid-range has some grit about it meaning she finds a way to get the rim. It usually consists of using her strong frame for a guard to create the contact necessary to score with the contact. A scrapper around the rim that grabs any loose offensive rebounder and finds a way to get it back up on the glass for the score. Gets out on the breaks filling the lanes looking to score with the ball or get the pass for the layup.

A guard that finds ways to get the job done on offense and defense. Smart IQ on both ends that did a great job on defense calling out the switches on screens. I have coached against this young lady and she is one of those players you must hold in check otherwise she can take over the game.

The combo guard now plays for the Southern Assault 16uE40. Great showing of a complete game this past weekend in the I-35 Showcase. I have seen Kinsley in person couple times and have always been aware that she is a high-level shooter from the 3-point line but This weekend I saw the open floor game in transition that she brings. A guard that pushes the tempo off the dribble looking to push the baseline for the score. Scored with a pullup jumper and pocket dribble to freeze the defender allowing her to get to the rim. I did like the decisions she made on the drives by not forcing the issue taking what the defense gave her. Good vision on the breaks looking for her teammate to fill the backside lane. Moved without the ball scoring on back cuts and dribble handoffs. A 2027 guard that fits great into a 3/4 guard offense cause of the movement she brings

Listed as a shooting guard due to her outside shooting capabilities but handles the ball more as a point guard. Excellent job in breaking the press finding the gaps and attacking them to get by the pressure defense. Sophia is a guard that is the set-up type guard meaning she is attacking the rim and waiting for the defense to help so she can kick to that person. The type of guard that seems to enjoy getting the assist. Do not mistake it because she is a tough finisher at the rim as well.

On defense she is one of those players that covers baseline to baseline and sideline to sideline. Great understanding of when to jump the passing lanes for the steal turning it into points off turnovers the 2028 guard already has several offers on the table.

A young lady that many might not have on their radar yet due to a injury the 24-25 school season and missing last circuit season. A shooter with deep range that will stretch out any zone defense. Tough downhill driver that can take the bumps on her way to the rim finishing the And 1. Showed a good running floater in the gap to avoid any block shots on her paint touches. The combo guard has the ball handling skills to play the point if needed . A transition that I believe would be a easy move for her at the next level. Good vision on the drive reading the help rotation to make the pass to offside block.

A tough defender that plays physical on the ball that caused the opposing team guards to turnover the ball over. Defended the next pass by jumping in the lane for the steal creating points off turnovers. A 2026 guard that to circle as I believe she should be back to herself by school season.

Jhazzy brings possess the complete package when you describe her game. Good handles use a varsity of ways to get by her defender. The first is a nice crossover that she sells very well getting the defender to lean one way so she can attack the other way. Second is she backs them down using her body so she can play off the bump to determine which way she is going. A good shooter from the 3-point line as well as a 15 ft out pullup jumper off the dribble. Enjoyed watching the set up meaning she was just waiting for the defense to commit so she can deliver a nice pass for the assist.

Solid defense on the ball and rotating in help. Quick hands and good timing lead to on the ball steals. The timing seemed to be just right where the ball was left handing. Looking forward to following the 2027 guard as she part of a young Union team that will make noise this upcoming season.

A 2028 combo guard that has a nice outside shot to go along with a good downhill game. The shot is nice and smooth with a good 1-2 footwork getting into the shot. Also showed footwork coming off the ball screen pulling up for the make as well. This forced the defense to fight over the screens. Great lift off the one leg running jumper with a high release to avoid the block shot. Good decisions on the paint touches making the correct reads not forcing any turnovers. Nice finisher at the rim creating the angle needed to get the ball high off the glasses with the good spin to score the tough layups.

A tough defender on the front of the press creating on the ball turnovers. Understood the rotation on the press jumping the next pass for a easy layup. Exciting 2028 to watch and follow

Combo guard seeing for the first time in person at the I-35 showcase. A lighting quick guard that has great handles. Actually, saw her cross one defender up putting the defender in a spin cycle before going by to score the layup. The most impressive aspect of her game that I appreciated was the entry passes to the post. She changed her angle on the delivery and put some nice touch on the ball getting it there. Nice shot off the dribble either in the 3-pointer or the pull up jumper at the free throw line. Pushed the tempo up the floor with the dribble and pass with her eyes up looking for running teammate filling the lanes.

Aggressive defender that used her quick feet and hands to get the steal on the ball for the turnover. A very athletic player that one time this weekend rotated out of the hold to block a corner 3-point shot. The 2027 is ranked in the Top 20 in Arkansas and after watching her this weekend I understand why. One player that I look forward to following.
