Gator For A Day Elite Camp: 2029s Brought the Swamp Heat

There wasn't enough time to catch every play and every possession, but it didn't take long to see which young players are special. The young players brought plenty of bite and made plays that fit what college camps spotlight - future elite talent. The young guard showcased a nice shooting tough from the three point line and could connect on the short jumper in the mid range area. If the opponent closed out too fast, the young Sophomore made them pay with drives to the rim. Patterson is an gifted offensive player who takes what the defensive gives.       [player_tooltip player_id='1258488' first='Audra' last='Davis'] was an impressive young prospect at the Gator for a Day Elite Camp. She looked elite and definitely stood out. The Freshman “do-all” guard blended outside shooting with explosive drives to the rim, and she was also effective as usual on the offensive glass. The young guard played her game and left no doubt that she is one of the top prospects in the 2029 class.       [player_tooltip player_id='1263573' first='Faith' last='Palao'] was very impressive at the Gator for a Day Camp, showcasing a very diverse offensive game. She was deadly from the perimeter and could shoot it off the dribble or catch as well. Palao was impresive in regular offensive sets or in transition. The phrase “shoot with faith” isn't just a play on her name, but also a reflection of her game. Her confidence on the floor was undeniable, as she mixed up threes, mid-ranges , and floaters in the teeth of the defense.     [player_tooltip player_id='1261851' first='Shea' last='Donovan'] must have great hearing in addition to her court vision. As a conversation was taking place about her explosiveness, right on cue, she hits another gear and finishes at the rim. The athletic young guard can blow by you, pull-up in the mid-range area and shoot the three. Donovan brought the "swamp-heat" to the camp and left no doubt about her abilities. McClendon is a high-energy player with has good speed and can get down-hill to the basket. Defensively, she has quick feet and plays with great anticipation. McClendon definitely was an "attention-getter" at the Gator For a Day Elite Camp, and she will be a player to watch this upcoming season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1293360' first='Brooklyn' last='Baptist'] is another young player from the First Coast who attended the camp, showing the commitment to her craft. Baptist is a player we will definitely watch this upcoming season. She has speed, good ball handling skills, and can maneuver in traffic and get to the rim.    The future was on full display at the Gator for a Day Camp. We didn't get a chance to chart every move or see every bucket by the talented 2029s, but the place was a buzz and a lot of that energy was coming from the "new class" on the block. We will keep our eyes on the talented 2029s throughout their upcoming Freshman campaign.
