Donovan brings the production at the rim and the flair as she retreats down the court after a basket. Defensively, the young guard was physical, competitive, and disruptive, generating steals both on the ball and in the passing lanes. In a matchup featuring two state champions, Booker T. Washington and Bishop Kenny, Donovan emerged as one of the game’s top performers. Donovan continued to showcase the athleticism, speed, and relentless motor that set her apart from many of the guards in the building. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor was evident and made her one of the top young guards in the building.

She constantly put pressure on the defense, attacking the basket with purpose and making smart decisions once she got into the paint. Whether finishing herself or drawing defenders and creating opportunities for teammates, Donovan consistently made plays. Her impact also extended to the defensive side of the ball. Donovan played aggressively, generated deflections, forced turnovers, and created havoc on the ball. A true competitor, Donovan’s energy and versatility made her one of the standout performers of the camp.

Shea remains one of the most exciting and electric guards to watch in the state regardless of class. Her impact was on full display during BK’s state championship run, where she consistently stepped up in big moments and helped lead the way to a title. At UNF in the title game, she took over key stretches and played a major role in helping her team secure its championship rings and medals. Shea is the definition of a competitor, bringing an edge, confidence, and will to win that separates her from many of her peers. Her performance at the Tampa camp earned her an offer and further validated the level of talent she possesses. While she will always face questions tied to size in a sport that values length and physical tools, there is little doubt that if she had a few more inches, P4 programs across the country would be lining up at her door. Simply put, her talent, production, and competitive fire are impossible to ignore.

Shea’s speed and pace stood out immediately as she consistently played fast without sacrificing control or decision-making. Whether pushing the ball in transition or attacking in the half court, she maintained the same burst with the ball in her hands and put pressure on defenses by getting downhill. She knocked down a three-pointer, scored with a runner in the lane, and showed an ability to touch the paint and create opportunities for others. What impressed me most was her feel as a playmaker, making the right pass at the right time without telegraphing her intentions to the defense. That combination of quickness, pace, and decision-making makes her a difficult player to contain and an exciting young guard to continue monitoring.

Her ability to stay composed under pressure and consistently make the right play reinforced her status as one of the top young guards in the State. Her performance landed her a state championship and a rising profile as the grassroots season kicks off.

Shea was the ultimate floor general and high-efficiency playmaker for the 4A state champions. Over the two-game span, she impressed with her decision-making, recording eight total assists on the biggest stage. In the semifinal against American Heritage, Donovan dictated the pace with nine points and three assists, but she truly elevated her game in the state final against Bishop Moore. In that championship matchup, she led her team in scoring with 16 points on a precise 6-of-11 shooting, while adding five assists and posting a team-high +13 plus/minus. Her ability to balance pass-first facilitation with primary scoring responsibilities in the final showcased her versatility and poise, marking her as one of the tournament’s most composed and impactful guards.

This was a repeat all game long. Donovan got into the paint and to the rim almost at will – showing an ability to get anywhere on the court she wanted to. The freshman scored 17 points, and when she wasn’t scoring, she was kicking to her shooters on the perimeter for clutch threes that shifted momentum. Donovan placed immense pressure on the defense and drawing 7 fouls on opposing guards. There were multiple stretches where Donovan closed the door and sealed the deal with drives and scores at the rim. Her combination of scoring, playmaking, and relentless attacking made her the clear MVP of the game – and a message for the State – she is only a Freshman!

Shea controlled the game from the point guard spot and played well beyond her years in helping Bishop Kenny reach the state title game. The freshman finished with 9 points and 3 assists while shooting an efficient 4-for-7 from the field. She handled the ball and pressure well throughout the game, consistently getting BK into their offensive sets while keeping the offense organized. Shea also used her speed and agility to create opportunities for herself and her teammates, becoming especially dangerous when attacking downhill. Her poise, pace, and decision-making were key factors in helping lead Bishop Kenny to the state championship game.
