Shea was the ultimate floor general and high-efficiency playmaker for the 4A state champions. Over the two-game span, she impressed with her decision-making, recording eight total assists on the biggest stage. In the semifinal against American Heritage, Donovan dictated the pace with nine points and three assists, but she truly elevated her game in the state final against Bishop Moore. In that championship matchup, she led her team in scoring with 16 points on a precise 6-of-11 shooting, while adding five assists and posting a team-high +13 plus/minus. Her ability to balance pass-first facilitation with primary scoring responsibilities in the final showcased her versatility and poise, marking her as one of the tournament’s most composed and impactful guards.

This was a repeat all game long. Donovan got into the paint and to the rim almost at will – showing an ability to get anywhere on the court she wanted to. The freshman scored 17 points, and when she wasn’t scoring, she was kicking to her shooters on the perimeter for clutch threes that shifted momentum. Donovan placed immense pressure on the defense and drawing 7 fouls on opposing guards. There were multiple stretches where Donovan closed the door and sealed the deal with drives and scores at the rim. Her combination of scoring, playmaking, and relentless attacking made her the clear MVP of the game – and a message for the State – she is only a Freshman!

Shea controlled the game from the point guard spot and played well beyond her years in helping Bishop Kenny reach the state title game. The freshman finished with 9 points and 3 assists while shooting an efficient 4-for-7 from the field. She handled the ball and pressure well throughout the game, consistently getting BK into their offensive sets while keeping the offense organized. Shea also used her speed and agility to create opportunities for herself and her teammates, becoming especially dangerous when attacking downhill. Her poise, pace, and decision-making were key factors in helping lead Bishop Kenny to the state championship game.

Explosive with a quick first step, she puts pressure on defenses by attacking the rim while also showing the ability to knock down perimeter shots at a respectable rate. She’s a strong facilitator who takes care of the basketball and doesn’t force action. Her competitiveness fuels her impact.  Defensively, she brings quickness and applies pressure on the ball, but it’s her burst and decision-making that separate her from her peers. Donovan’s athleticism and control allow her to create for herself and be a playmaker – a rare balance for a freshman.

It was at the UNF Fall Camp where she stood out at their Osprey camp, consistently blowing by defenders and creating opportunities for both herself and her teammates. The young guard has duplicated that effort all season long. Donovan’s explosiveness is immediately noticeable, particularly when she attacks the rim with confidence and purpose. She can shoot the three, pull up in the midrange, and is a great decision maker in the pick-and-roll game. As a freshman, she has now led her team to a Final Four appearance — a strong indication of her impact and future postseason appearances. Many standout guards have made early postseason runs part of their story, and Donovan now adds her name to that group. As mentioned, she was a standout at the UNF camp and now she is back on the same floor with a chance to play for a State Championship.

Donovan can score the ball from the perimeter and by getting to the rim. She does a good job of drawing the defense and making good passes to her shooters. Her ball movement and court vision is very advanced for a freshman. Not many freshmen carry the responsibility on that’s on Donovan’s shoulders. In the Regional Quarterfinals, the young guard led the way in assists. Donovan is poised to lead her team on a deep run into the playoffs.

Shea is a high-motor player who consistently showed hustle and competitive toughness. She used a quick first step to attack the rim and finished with craft around defenders. On defense, she deflected a pass in transition that would have been an easy basket for the opposition. Offensively, she drove through the middle and made a smart play, finding one of her shooters (KK) in the corner for a quality shot.
