For them to be able to process the game and view it to where that favors them or gives them an advantage, really sets the stage for how far a player truly can go. When a kid can think the game, get themselves out of a jam, or even forecast what's about to happen, that's when you know you have a ballplayer on your hands. The ability to read and react is so vital, and that goes for any position, not just the point guard.   Speaking of PGs, let's stay here for a second. This state is littered with PGs who can do exactly what I am talking about. It is a learned skill that separates kids, and when you have one on your squad, then you really can go. The secret, you can't hold girls that process like this back. You have to let them go. They bring a change of pace to your offense. They are exciting. They cannot only attract defenders and free up open looks for others, but they also bring a certain energy that their teammates can rally around.   This specific trait, I'm sure, has a name, but for the sake of this article, I am going to say this: when you have a floor general who is skillful like this, they are about to cause a lot of problems out there for opponents.    Here are a few girls in our state (trust me, I know there are more) who are floor generals who see the game through a lens others may not see.    Tough-nosed ball player who is going to compete on both ends of the floor. Her ability to rise above the competition and just at someone is second to none. She can thread the needle with her passes, attack the paint and finish, and hit the open 3. She's gaining a lot of momentum on the recruiting front with her style of play. A solid ballplayer who is about to have a breakout year.     One of the best PGs in the state when it comes to having a feel for being out there on the floor. Sure, she can dish it like no other, but she is a scorning machine that can exploit a defense's weakness in a heartbeat. She is a go-getter, someone who can will a team to victory. A scorer on all 3 levels, this kid is a sensational talent who is the ultimate competitor.     Her game speaks volumes, and the way she distributes the rock is second to none. This kid is a tough competitor who is as selfless as they come. She can throw passes through windows that others can't. She can deliver the rock on top, enabling her teammates to score. She, too, can shoot the rock or get to the rim. She's solid on both ends of the floor, but you better believe when you face this young lady, she's going to be a problem for you.     The ultimate competitor who is going to give you everything she has. The little engine that could, this kid is going to find a way to win. She can distribute the rock, go get a bucket when needed, and lock up on the defensive end. She is a heady ball player who is packed with an all-around game. A great talent that can exploit any defense and help carry the load of a team looking to win. A super talented kid that you have to gameplan for.     When it comes to this kid, she is one of those total packages that has everything. She can score it in multiple ways, facilitate an offense, lock up on D, and really contribute in multiple phases of the game. She is an impact player, one who is going to leave her mark on each and every contest. Doesn't matter the venue, time of year, setting, none of that, if this young lady is around, you are going to find out real quickly who she is. Solid ballplayer who can play.
