PGH Freshman Showcase: Team 5 Evaluations

The 2029 Indiana Freshman Showcase featured 55+ prospects on September 6th, 2025. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant will receive a write-up in our articles, which is a unique and special quality of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. We prioritize covering everyone. My coverage focused primarily on teams 3, 4, and 5. As a scout who primarily covers Michigan, seeing Indiana's top prospects for the first time was truly exciting! Here are a few highlights for each player from Team 5 below!    Kleyah played hard for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. She grabbed a steal, dribbled up the court with both hands, and looked for open teammates. Kleyah wasn't afraid to fire when her shot was open and pursued rebounds.     Alexa showed her potential with Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. She used perfect wall-up technique on defense to force a missed shot. Alexa worked hard to grab defensive rebounds and handled the ball confidently with both hands.     Hadley was lightning in a bottle for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. Her flashy playmaking, scrappy defense, and tough finishers were exciting to watch. Hadley buried a smooth corner three and wasn't afraid to pull it from downtown. She wrestled to tie up a taller opponent on defense and didn't back down from a physical challenge. Hadley used a fast spin move on a dribble drive to get by and score a left-handed layup. She created space with a shifty combination of behind-the-back dribbles and buried a deep wing jumper. Hadley used a sweet behind-the-back crossover move to score a floater. She made a quick ball transfer after cutting backdoor to score a layup and dropped in another floater after a crossover dribble. Hadley took the ball hard to the rack for layups, created steals, and chased down rebounds. She made an impact on both ends and earned recognition as a Top Performer.     Bella was an effective court general and two-way player for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. She worked hard to secure rebounds and created transition opportunities with her fast, up tempo pushout dribbles. Bella displayed good vision on the court, dishing out assists, including a long lead pass on a rope. Bella handled the ball with confidence, switching hands, and creating space with crossovers and spin dribbles. She caused deflections with her active hands on defense and buried a smooth three-pointer in the slot.     Amelia gave Team 5 a boost with her perimeter shooting and active defense at the Freshman Showcase. She handled the ball with confidence under pressure, keeping her eyes up. Amelia jumped up to bat down a pass, closed out hard to block a shot, and intercepted a pass in transition. She fired three-pointers with balanced feet and a wrist snapping follow-through. Amelia drained multiple triples from the wing and up top--she has long range. Amelia used a shifty between-the-legs, crossover, step-back dribble combination and buried the deep wing three.     Lania showed that she can flat-out score at the Freshman Showcase. Her shifty quickness and dynamic abilities with the ball were electric. Lania picked off a pass, turned on the jets, and finished with a strong and-one layup. She buried a filthy crossover step-back three, a straightaway triple off the catch, and another up top off the bounce. Lania's explosive second gear and ability to quickly change directions made her an unstoppable slasher. She utilized high-pick-up euro-step moves to finish many layups in traffic and dropped in floaters. Lania knocked down mid-range pull-ups with confidence and attacked gaps relentlessly off the dribble. Lania drained a jumper after creating space with consecutive inside-out dribbles and used a spin dribble on a middle drive to win the race to the rim for a layup. Her determined drives ended with many free throws and layups. Lania was a true scorer for Team 5 and earned recognition as a Top Performer.     Allison contributed in multiple categories for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. She shot the ball with balance and crashed hard to score an offensive rebound put-back in transition. Allison got her defender up in the air with a shot-fake and used an excellent step-through pivot to score the bucket.     Audrey showed off her smooth shooting stroke from the perimeter and made smart reads off the ball for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. She went backdoor twice to score layups, pushed the ball with both hands in transition, and used strong box-out technique to secure rebounds. Audrey was deadly from beyond the arc, burying multiple triples with sound mechanics and a confident follow-through. Audrey hit threes from the slot, wing, and in the corner. She took the ball downhill with a full head of steam and earned a trip to the free-throw line after using a step-through pivot. Audrey worked hard to deny entry passes into the post and caused deflections.
